HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes EDC 2017 07.13SOUTH BEND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION July 13, 2017 MEETING The South Bend Economic Development Commission was called to order at 4:00 p.m. at the County-City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, 13th floor BPW. 1. ROLL CALL Members Present: Tim Scott, President Quentin Phillips Rafael Morton Members Absent: Marguerite Taylor, Secretary Consuella Hopkins, Vice-President Staff: Benjamin Dougherty, Esq. Mary Brazinsky, Secretary Others: David Morris, Intern at Notre Dame 2. MINUTES A. Approval of Minutes for June 5, 2017 Upon a motion by Quentin Phillips and seconded by Rafael Morton, the motion carried unanimously, the Commission approved the Minutes of June 5, 2017. 3. NEW BUSINESS A. Resolution No. 2017-4 (Derby, Inc.) Dave Relos presented this Resolution to the Commission. Derby, Inc. reached out as they are expanding to the Southwest of the Ethanol plant. They are doing an expansion to their current facility with a loan through First Source. This old item has appeared on the title work from 1979 for an EDC bond that was issued to them. According to the lease and trust indenture it was to be paid off January 2000. It started out as American National Bank which switched hands several times before becoming PNC. We will need to deed the property back to Derby, Inc. since it is paid. We ask for Commission approval. Upon a motion by Rafael Morton and seconded by Quentin Phillips, the motion carried unanimously, the Commission approved Resolution No. 2017-4 (Derby, Inc.) of July 13, 2017. 4. ADJOURNMENT The Motion was made to adjourn the meeting by Tim Scott, President and seconded by Rafael Morton, the motion carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 4:06 p.m.
