Sniadecki, Director of Infrastructure SUBJECT: City of South Bend -Metronet Buildout Phase 2 Connecting our facilities for reliability and performance DATE: 8/21/18 Linda, Sandra, Clara, Jennifer & Michael, Please see the attached quotes and spreadsheet regarding the addition of eight COSB locations to the Metronet during phase two of this project. The overall initiative is to connect all city facilities to the Metronet within two years. Currently, Metronet serves as the backbone to share IT services/network connectivity throughout many of the city facilities. Metronet provides significant savings as well as better, faster, more reliable/redundant connectivity. The Office of Innovation and Technology team reviewed the quote and give favorable recommendation. Below are locations within phase two that have no network connection, very slow circuit, and/or lack of redundancy: 1) Fire Station #10 2) Fire Station #3 3) Fire Station #7 4) Fire Station #8 5) Erskine Golf Pro 6) Erskine Golf Maintenance 7) Studebaker Golf Pro 8) Studebaker Gold Maintenance Phase two of the Metronet Buildout would be a one-time cost of $438,635. We have $373,000 budgeted f/ 2018 and $373,000 planned f/ 2019 ($746,000 total). This Phase two project will start 2018 Fall and finish 2019 Spring. Metronet is a "sole source" vendor.
