Board met in regular seesion at 7:15 Pill. All members present.
Hearing had on assessment -roll •%ndfinatlest:mate for Gravel
roadway on Gertrude Street from Ewing Avenue to South line of Rumm Village Park, under
Improvement Resolution No. 996. In the City of South Bends Indiana.
In the above master no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said
roll filed December 6t,h., 1922 is benefited in the amount of assessments as shown on
said roll, and the Board further find that the assessment ro%1 filed,December 6th.,.
1922 and.the final estimate allowed December 6th. s 1922 should be and the same are hereby
in all- things, mtified.s confirmed and'appr'oved,

roll filed November 29th.9 1922 is benefited in -the amounts of assessments as shown

hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.

said roll, and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed November 29th.,
1922 and the final estimate allowed,November 29th., 1922 should be and the same are hereb

ment Resolution No, 1022. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above.matter no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed..: The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said
roll filed-Rovember 29th.9 1922 is benefited in the amount of assessments as shown
on said roll and the Board further find .that the assessment roll filed November 29th.
1922 and the final estimate allowed November 29th., 1922 should be and the same are
hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. ,

November 29t h., 1922 is benefited in the amount of assessments as shown on said roll,

roll filed November 29th.9 1922 is benefitted in :.the amount.of assessments as shown on
said roll, and..the Board further find that the assessment roll filed November 29th.9

hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.

to contractor filling up their lots with extra dirt And sand. The. Board
after hearing all pasties interested in said improvement find that the property
assessed in said roll filed November 29th,,:1922 is benefited in the amount of
assessments as shown on said roll, and the Board further_ Find That the ass.ess-►
ment roll filed November-29th,, 1922 and the final estimate allowed November
29th , 1922 should be and the same are hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed
srld approved and the Board ordered that the -City Controller be`notified to with
hold from final settlement the su�i`of $1,500.00 from amounts due Contractor un-
til dirt is reinved and lots put in *proper, condition. Board ordered a hearing
set for Wednesday December 27th., 1922 at 7:15 P.M... -at which time Contractor
is to be present to arrange about taken care of lots.with property o mers.

present at meeting Wednesday December 27th., 1922 at 7:15 P.M _

no remonstrators appeared. The Board over -ruled written written remonstrance
Filed Tuesdey.December 19th., 1922 by the Chicago, Lake Shore and South Fiend
Railway Company and the efore find that the property assessed in said roll filed
November 14th.9 1922 ancr as amended December 13th,, 1922 is benefited in the
amounts of assessments as shown on said roll and the Board further find that the
assessment roll filed November 44th., 1922 and as amended .December 13th,9 1922
,and thefinal estimate allowed November 14th., 1922 and as amended December 131h.
1922 should be and the same are #ereby in all things ratified, confirmed and.
approved as amended.

accepted and let thereunder be in all things,aecepted and approved a.d that
final estimate be allowed.
Resolved that said: notices in form required by law be publishd
on the 28th. day of December 1922 and on the 4th, day of January 1923 in the
South Bend Daily Tribune and News Times An this City setting anf fixing the
17th, day of January 192.R at 7:15 P.M. at the office of said Board in the City
Hall this City, as the time and place when this Board -will receive and bear
remonstrances against the amounts of such assessments &%sgq@ed_against each lot,

Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer
on alkey west of Scott Street from Colfax Avenue to. T..:a Sale Avenue, under Improvement
Resolution No. 1057. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved_ that the entire work under the above resolution and
contract let thereunder be ir, all things, accepted and approved and that said final
estimate be allowed. a
Resolvedthat said notices in form required by law be published
on the 28th. day of December 1922 and on the 4th. day of January 1922 in the South. Bend.
Tribune and News Times, newspapers of general circulation in said City, setting and
fixing the 17th, day of January 1922 at 7:1.5 PM. at theoffice of the Board in the
City Hall #gin said City as the time and place when this Board will receive and hear
remonstrances against the amounts assessed, against each lot and parcel of land.on said
roll and will hear and determine khether such lots and parcels of land will be specially
benefitted by said improvement by the amounts stated and set forth in said roll.
Hearing given on Condemnation Resolution No, 66 for the Relocation
of Calvert Street near Mumford Court, in the City of South Bend, Indiana,
In the above matter property owners appeared but no -written remon-
strance was filed. The Board thereupon being fully advised in the matter takes
final action on said resolution confirking without modification all former action
taken on the same,
The Board therefore declares the above property in all things,
condemned and appropriated for public use, and the Board now orders that a list or
roil be prepared of all'the owners or holders of property and of valuable interests
therein sot4h&'to be taken or to be injurionsly affected which list or roll shall also
describe the property beneficially affected.
Hearing had on Resolution fbr the Vacation of Calvert Street
near Mumford Court, under Vacation Resolution No. 69. In the City of South Benda
Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written
emonstrance filed, Mrs. Wilhelmina Fisher and Mrs. Ireland property owners appeared.
The Board therefore sustain all former action taken on said resolution and declare
the abve described property in all things vacated and this resolution in all things,
ratified, confirmed and approved,
And the Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all
owners or holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to
be injuriously affected which list or roll also describe the property benettially
affected.'
Hearing had on resolution for pipe sewer on Indiana: Avenue from
Leer Street to Clyde Street and Clyde Street frdm Indiana Avenue to Dubail Avenue,
under Improvement Resolution No. 1081. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Intheabove matter no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed. T)te Board being fully advise thepre miles, decides that the
benefits to the property liable to be assed•for said improv nt are equal to the
estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon sakes
final, ent,tibon on said resolution as originally adopted and the same is hereby in all
things, ratified, confirmed -and approved.:
Resolved that this matter deferred until Ferbruary 20th.91922
at 10:00 A.M. for date for advertisement for bids.

My attention has been called to a jog in Fellows Street at the corner
of Division Street. One of the men who is interested in property down there has been
informed that it is the intention of putting a new building projecting into what, is
properly the street and .he is very anxius to have the street widened at this point in
order that it may be of uniform width. I should be very glad to look over this corner

Mr. Leo. Witucki, an employee of the Engineering Department has
requested an increase in salary. Mr. Witueki is in charge of ate of the field
parties ana his work has been very satisfactory. '
I personally feel that his request should be granted, and recommend
hthat his salary be increased from $135.00 a month to $150.00 per month, effect
effective beginning January lst., 192.?.

LOCAL SEWER I11PROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1085.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,,
county of St. Joseph, State of Indiana. That the construction of a local sewer,
intended and adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property
abuts thereon, and not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from..colla6er
collateral drains, be and the some i.s hereby 6n and along. Main Street from
Navaree Street to Madison Street as follows, topwit:_
Beginning on the center
line of Main Street at a point 119.4 feet south of the south fine of Navarre
Street,; thence south along the center line of Main Street -to the centerline -
of Marion Street with a twenty-two (22) inch vitrified pipe sewer; thence still
south along the center line of Main Street to the center line of Madison Street
with a twenty(20) inch vitrified pipe sewer, together with the necessary

Indiana: That the following described property be appropriated for the use of said
City: Widening'Seeberger' Drive from a point one hundred fifteen (115) feet east of
Michigan Street to Fellows Street,
A tract or parcel of land in the northeast quarter (4} of the north
west quarter (1) of section 24 Trap. 37 N. R. 2 E. oe the Second Erinpipal Meridan in
St. Joseph Co. Indiana:. Bounded by a► line running as follows, viz: -
Beginning at a point thirty (3) feet north of the present; south line
og Seeberger Drive and Oxie hundred fif+.a++n (115) feet east of the sass line of Michigan
Street$ and running thence north thirty (30) feet, thence east parallel with and s ixty (I
(60 feet.north of the present south lihe of said Seeberger Drive Twelve hundred.sixty
nine and seventy three hundreths (10269.73) Feet, to the west line of Fellows Street,
