Hearing hadon Resolution No, 1060. for the pipe sewer on,victoria Street.from Michigan Street to Fellows Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing no_ remonstrators appeared and no written remon- strance was filed. And the Hoard being fully advised in the premises, decides t.h4t the benefits to property liabel to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the -stims ted cost of the same' as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same are hereby in all things, ratified, cenfirmed�and approved. Resolved that all advertisements for bids be held up until February 20th., 192.1 at 10 00 A.M. In the above matter, Mr. Hardy moved that 1h a assessment roll on Improvement Resolution No. 1002 for.the Sheet Asphalt pavement on La Salle Avenue from West end of River Bridge to Wiest line of Main Street in this City be amended.so as to include an assessment of $3,424.029 against, the Chicago, Lake Shore and South Bend Railway Company for the paving between its tracks and fourteen inches outside., of its tracks as provided in.its contract with the City; ghat the assessments of property owners along said tracks be reduced pro -rate in the same amount; that this hearing be continued until 10:00 A.M. Dear Mr. Slaughter: I beg to acknowledge receipt in the mail to --day of copy of a resolution passed by the Board on November 28th., with reference to the use of public property for private purposes, and I am.unable to understand the position you are taking with reference to such existing occupancy of,the streets as are now in effect. You stake that " It is further dWclared to be the purpose of the Board to require'the removal of all existing obstructions that are necess- ary and unlawful,# and that in.any way interiferes with the free use and enjoyment by the public of any such street." Barkowski, residing at 534 South Carlisle Street, called at my office to -day to make a complaint against, the White Construction Company for having broken and destroyed the curb and sidewalk in front of Lot 415 Second Plat in Summit -Place Addition. This is a vacant lot but when built on will be knwon as 534 South Olive Street.. He reports that, the White Construction Compaq w1ile paving Olive Streets about, three agn years ago, used his lot.for,unloading gravel and for the use of their concrete mixer, that they ,have.,driven with trucks_ over the curb and sidewalk, all without his consent. 60-3-1 14 -: k . Dec. 13,1922. k The City of South Bendf Indiana. o , Y 'Geatlemen:� We proposed to furnish and install Ferdulum metal ' stair treads on the Main Street entrance steps of the ;City Hall as per sample submiJAed. - The progosal inclusdes the furnishing and complete installation on all Itat,erials. The treads will have a lip 2" deep or more which will entirely cover the cement, filler,' and the worn places in the steps. Bottom step to have return ends to give it the same finish sss the front. Too steps to be beddd�down so step when finsihed with Ferdulum tread will be level with the entrance. Entire surface of all treads to be covered with Ferdulum, where Ferdulum is made in two pieces to cover one tread, joints on different, steps are.to be staggered. We will complete this contract not later than fifteen days after arrival of treads Amount $320,00 Installation to be completed in a nest, goodd workmanlike and substantial manner, South Bend Marble & Tile Co.
