Board of Public Works
City of South Bend, Indiana.
Gentlemen: -
Replying to your inquiry of November $, 19229 I advise that Section 321
of the City Ordinances provides that:
" It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to throw or deposit
or cause to be thrown or deposited, or to permit the throwing or depositing of
any garbage, dirt or glass..... into mpy stream running through dt adajcent to said
City. The penalty provides for a find of not less than Five Dollars nor more than One
Hundred Dollars."
I would advise that you'notify Mr. Brazy to remove this dirt
within a limited time and if not dgnes that he be -,prosecuted for violation of this
ordinance. In view of his attitude toward the Bu.ileling Commissioner;; an officer
of your department, which has made it necessary for us to 'prosecute him for .the
violation of the Building Code, it scribes me that itswould be a good ides to find
out whether Bracy is -running -the City, You may send a copy of this letter to him
if you desire.
Yours truly,
