Hearing had on resolution for the pavement of Kendall Street
from Indiana Avenue to Calvert Street, under -Improvement Resolution No. 1044,
In .the City of South Bend, Indiana,
Upon said hearing no remo n strators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed. The Board being fully advised in.the premises, decides
that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are
equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer,
and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally,adoptedand the
same is hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved,.
Resolved ttrther, that notices be published on, the 7th. day of
September 1922 and on the 14th. day of September 1922 in the South Bend Tribune
and News Times, newspapers of general -circulation in said City and in the
Indianapolis Star,I ndianapoli's, Indiana on the 9th. day of September 1922,
stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvemeA.
up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday September 20th., 1922. The Board reserves the right -
to reject any and all bids.
Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No..1043 for the
Trunk sewer in -,River Park District No.'2, in the .city of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing" no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance w► s filed, And'the Board being fully advised in the premises,
decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement
are equal -to -the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil
engineer, ans thereupon takes final sction on said resolution by modifying same
to eliminate retaining wall and substituting 12 feet of.Twenty four (24") inch
iron pipe and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved
as modified.
Resolved further, that notices be published on ti he 7th. day
of September 1922 and on the134ih. day of September 1922 in the South Bend Daily
Tribune and Newsy Times nev-sp per<s cf general circulation in said, City and on
the 9tho day of September 1922 in the Indianapolis, Star, Indianapolis, Indiana
stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improve-
ment up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday September 20th., 1922-. The Board reserves the

Hearing had on Vacation Resolution No. 63 for the vacation
og the alley lying between lots 183 and 184 in the ariginel Plat -of South Bend
Indiana from Main Street to the first alley east of Merin Street, in the City of
South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared but no written remora-
strance was filed. The remonstrators appeared and requested that hearing be
deferred until Wednesday September 13th., 1922 at 7:15 P.M. Same deferred by Boad

Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said
roll filed August lst., 1922 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown
on said rolls, and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed August
lst., 1922 and the final estimate allowed August 1st., 1922 should be and the
same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.

remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in
said roll filed August lst., 19aP is benefited in the amount of such assessments
as shown on the rolls, and the Board further find that, the assessment roll filed
August 1st., 1922 and the final estimate allowed August lst., 1922 should be and
the same is hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved.

on Marietta Street from'IndiaRna Avenue to Dubail Avenue, under Improvement Resolution
No. 978. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and complained about contracto
destroying trees.- The Board decided to" defer action on said roll until Wednesday Sept.,
13th.9 1922 at 7:15 P.M. to give property owners an oppportunity to see contractor about
replacing trees.
Hearing had on wssessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on
Dubail Aven-ae from Leery Street to First alley East of Clyde Street, under Improvement,
Resolution No. 930. i In the City of South Bend,, Indiana.
Upon said bearing no remonstrators appeared and no written-
remon-strance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in.said roll

Iand repaving of North Main Street from La Salle Avenue to Colfax Avenue, under Improve-

Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared.and no written rimon-
strance was filed. The Board therefore. find that the assessment roll filed August, 16th.
1 22 is benefitted in the amount as shown on said assessment roll and the Board further
find that tibet the assessment roll filed August.16th.9 1922 and the final estimate
allowed August, 16th., 1922 should be and the, same are hereby in all things ratified,
confirmed and ap roved. Upon recommendation of the City Engineer the sum of Five
hundred ( 500.00� Dollars was ordered hold up until pavement is brought to grade
along street car tracks.
Hearing had on assessment, roll and final estimate for cement walk
and grade on West side of Portage Avenue from Elwood Avenue to Morris Park Addition,
under Improvement Resolution No. 941. In the City 4 South Bend, Ind:6 na

1922 1*4 is benefitted in the amounts of assessments as shown on said assessment roll,
and the Board further finds that the assessment roll filed Auly 25th.9 1922 and the
final estimate allowed July 25th.9 1922 should be and the same are hereby in all things
ratified, confirmed and -approved.

and walk on North side of Elwoof Avenue from Portage -Avenue to West line -of Victory Addit
under Improvement Resolution No. 936. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. y

Contracts were awarded on the following improvements.
Concerning the improvement, od the roadway of Pa in Street from
Hine Street to Linden Avenue with asphalt, as 4; : ; c ite, Mulithic, concrete or
brick, in pirsuance to resolution No. 1Q09. lhetReafd finds that no petition Yeas been
filed with said Board by a majority in number of the freeholders residing on said street
to be improved, requesting th t it be improved with a different kind of pavement than
the kind heretofore adopted by the Board $A its preliminary order; and the City
Engineer reports that the Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder
for the kixid of pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the ffioard find that the
Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the contract
for said improvement to;them, and orders that said improvement be made with Asphaltic
Concrete using Mexican Asphalt and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are here-
by confirmed and approved

Paris Street to Broadway with asphalt, asphaltif concrete, bitulithic, oncret,e or
brick, in pursuance to Resolution No. 1010. the Board finds that no petition has been
filed with said Board by a majority in number of the freeholders residing; on -said street
o be improved, requesting' that it be improved with a di feerent kind of pavement than
the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its preliminary order; and -the City Engineer
reports that the White Construction Co. is the lowest and best, bidder for thekind of
pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board find that the White Construction
Co. is the lowest and hest bidder for tktxkiXdxV_fand hereby lets- the contract for
said improvement to them, and orders that said improvement be made with Asphaltic coneete
using Mexican asphalt and all proceedings heretofore had in this matter are hereby
confirmed and approved.

Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended
and adapted onlu for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon,
and no intended snit or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and
the same is hereby ordered in and along Sibley Avenue from Brookfield Street to Wilber
Street as follows, to -wit: -
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Brookfield
Street and Sibley :Ava nne; thence east along the center line of Sibley Avenue from

Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City;of South
Bend, St. Joseph Country, State of Indiana, that it, is desired and deemed necessary
to improve The alley Vilest of William Street from .Wayne Street, to Division Street
as follows, to -wit: -
Said alley shall be graded and the roadway thereof shall be
paved, also the roadway of certain portions of'the streets and alleys which enter
or intersect said alley shall be graded and paved. The having material to be used
in making said improvement shall beSheet Asphalt, Bitlithic, Asphaltic concrete,
Brick or Portland cement concrete seven (7) inches thick,, and the foundation shall
be Portland cement oncrete Six (6) inches thick for the Sheet Asphalt, Bitlithic
asphaltic concrete and brick, or rolled gravel six (6) inches thick for the brick,
storm water inlets and conduits shall bp constructed where necessary; all storm
water inlets and manhole tops shall be set to the proper grade; cement marginal
curb shall be constructed at all dtreet and alley intersections where necessary
all as is more particularly shown. and all in accordance with the plans, profiles,
detail drawings and specifications on file in the office of the Deparrment of

STREET OR AILEY IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1060
Be it Rep lved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South. Bend,
St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to improve

Said street shall
