Wednesday August 30th., 1922
Board met in regular session at 7:15 P.M. R'r. L. P. Hardy absent.
'Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 1430 for pavement
on Poland Street -from Webster Street to Walnut Street, in the City of South Bead,
Indiana.
Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and a written zlemonstrance
was filed. And the Board having heard all parties interested in said improvement '"
ewer; -riled written remonstrance, and being fully advisees on the premises, decides that
the benefits to property liable to be assessed for` said imrovement, are equal ,to the
estimated cost of the same as reported byt the City Engineer, and thereupon takes
final action on.said resolution as originally adopted and the same is hereby in all
things, ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 24th* day of
February 19211 and on the 3rd, day of March 1923in the South Bend Nets Times and
Tribune, newspapers of general circulation in said City and March 1st.9 1923 in the
Indianapolis Star, stating that this Board will receive bids 'tor the con struction `of
said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday March 13th., 192 The Board reserves
the right to reject, any and all bids.
Hearing had on resolution for pavement on Fassnacht, Avenue from
Walnut Street to aohnson Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1032. In the City
of South Bend, Indiana.
Vpon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remon-
strance was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the,premises,.decides that
the benefits to property liable to the estimated cost of the same,a s reported by.the
City Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said as originally adopted and the
the same is hereby in all things ratified., confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 24tho day of
.--,February 1923 and March 3rd., 1923 in the South Bend Tribune and News Times in
said City and Indianapolis Star, Indianapolks, Indiana on the 1st. day of March 1923,
stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction,of said.improvements
up to 10:00 A.M. on the 13th. day of March. 192Y. The Board reserves the righto
reject any and all bids.
Hearing had on resolution for pavement on Harrison Avenue
from Lincoln Way West to California Avenue, under improvement Resolution No. 1033,
In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and a written remon-
strance was filed. And the Board after hearing all parties interested, over -ruled
said written remonstrance and being fully advised in the premises, decides that the
benefits .to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the
estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon
takes final action on said resolution by modifying same to include the resurfiting
of the intersection of Van Buren Street and Harrison Avenue and the same is hereby
in all things,.ratified, confirmed and approved as modified.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 24tho day of
February 1923 and on the 3rd. day of March 1923s ih the South Bend, Daily Tribune and
News Times newspapers of general circulation in said City, and Indianapolis Star
on the 1st, day of March 1923 stating that this Board will receive bids for the con-
struction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. March 13th..9 1923. The Board reserves
the right, to .eject any and all bids.
Hearing had on improvement resolution No. 1035 for the 'pavement
on alley South of Thomas Street from Chapin Street to Laurel Street, in the City of
South Bend, Indiana.

sustained written remonstranet filed and hereby rescind all action on said resolution.

strance was filed. The Board being fully advised in the premises, deeidas that the
benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the
estimated cost, of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon
sakes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby
in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that, notices be published on the 24th. day of
February 1923 and on the 3rd. day of March 1923 newspapers of general Circulation in
said City and on the lst.' day of March 1923 in the Indianapolis Star, stating that,
this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00

Hearing had on improvement Resolution No. 1029 for the pavement on
Leer Street from Calvert Street to Ewing Avenue, in the City of South Bend, Ind.
Upon said fearingremonstrators appeared and a written remonstrance
filed. The Board after hearing all interested property holders over --ruled said
written remonstrance and being fully advised in the property liable to be assessed..
for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of.the same, as reported by
the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as
originally adopted and the same is hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and,
approved.
Resolved further, that notices by published on the 24th. day of
February 1923 and on the 3rd, day of Burch 1923, in. the South Bend Tribune and
News Times, a newspapers of general eiteulation in said City and in the Indianapols
Star of Indianapolis, Indiana on the 1st. day of March 1923, stating that this
Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 1000
.A.M. Tuesday March 13th.9 192P. The Board reserves the right to re-ect any and
all bids.
Hearing had on resolution for pavement on Stull Street from
Michigan Street to Lafayette Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1034, in the
City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing ae remonstrator appeared and objected to improvemelh
rkot going to Franklin Street but no written remonstrance was filed. The Board
after hearing all parties interested decided to rescind resolution and ordered a
new resolution ordered pa+ppared from Michigan Street to Franklin. Street.
Hearing had'on resolution for pavement improvement on Carroll
Street from Haney Avenue to Indiana Avenue, under Improvement Resolution ITo. 1036
In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon paid hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed. And the Board being, fully advised in the premises,
decides that the benefits to property, liable to be assessed for said improvement
are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported'by the Civil`Engineer,
and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted and the
same is hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved.

Hearing had on resolution for the grading and graveling of Huey
Street from Lincoln Way West to Elwood Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No.
1041. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and written remonstrance
filed. The Board after hearing all parties interested and being fully advised
i-h the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to the estimated
cost of said improvement are equal to, the estimated cost of the same as reported
by the City Engineer, and thereupon takes final .action on said resolution as
originally adopted and the same is hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and
approved.
Resolved -further, that notices be published on the 31st. day of
August 1922 and on the 7th. day of ReAtember 1922, in the South Bend News Times arl
and Tribune, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of
said improvement up to 10:00 A.M.- Tuesday September 19th., 1922. The Board
reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 1040 for the pipe sewer
On Scott Street from Indiana Avenue to Terre Haute Logansport R. R. lea In the
City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remon-
strance was filed. The Board being Sully advised in the pre miles, decides Viat
-titmx the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are
equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer,
and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted and the
same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 31.st. day of
August 1922 and on the 7th. day of September 1922 in the South Bend News Times�abd
South Bend Tribune, stating that this Baard will receive bids for the construction
of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday September 19th., 1922. The Board
reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Hearing. had on rolls of awards of amages and assessments of
benefits in the matter o`f Vacation Resolution No.56 adopted September'7th., 1920
for the vacat on of alley in Rankert & Eggleston's Sub-D'ivi'sion, in. the City of
South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed., The Hoard therefore declare the above roll filed August 9th.
1922 in all things, ratifid4,confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed:

City Engineer submitted tabluation of bids received Tuesday
August 29th., 1922 and contract awarded to McHugh & Cole Co. for River Park
Trunk sewer District No. 1. under Improvement Resolution No. 1016 for the prtee
of $560133.55
Property owners residing on Dayton Street, between Kline Street and
Robinson Street appeared before the Board and presented petition for grade,
curb and sidewalk on said street,.and resolution ordered.
Property owners residing on Marine Street between Dayton Street
and Calvert, Street appeared before the Board and presented petition for pavement
on said street. Resolution ordered:
Excavation bond for the sum of $19000.00 for Louis Stoll
approved.
Communication received read and placed on file fvvm Joseph V.
Wypniszynski in regard to the paving of alley south of Thomas Street. Same
read 'and placed on file.
Pole _and Wire Inspector reported that no light was required
on Lincoln tray East between Osborne Street and Sample Street as per request of
Councilman Erler.- I
Petition filed August 1st., 1922 for light at corner of Leer St.
and Dayton Street in front of Hope Presbyterian Church. Same recommende4 by
inspector and approved by the Board.
