City Clerk SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION NO. ~`'~ 3"6~ A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR A BROWNFIELD ASSESSMENT GRANT WHEREAS, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has financial assistance for brownfield revitalization ,including grants for site assessments; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend previously received an assessment grant but needs additional funding in order to continue the program; and WHEREAS, the City of South Bend intends to request a $200,000 Assessment Grant; and WHEREAS, the Mayor is the Chief Executive Officer of the City and is the appropriate applicant for the Environmental Protection Agency Assessment Grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is hereby authorized to apply to the United States Environmental Protection Agency fora $200,000 Assessment Grant(s) and to execute all documents related to any grant(s) awarded. SECTION II. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall file with the Common Council a complete copy of the application(s) submitted to the United States Environmental Protection Agency. SECTION III. That for every activity, project, or program to be funded under this resolution, the Mayor shall submit to the Common Council an appropriation ordinance prior to expenditure of any funds received from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. SECTION IV. That the City of South Bend, Department of Community and Economic Development is hereby designated as the agency and office administering, on behalf of the City of South Bend the Assessment Grant(s) awarded under this application. SECTION V.
