Re�ular meeting of the Board oP Public Safety was held on Monday
July I8, at 8:,45 A. M. l�ll members were present.
T�inute� of the two previous meetings were read and approved.

Natters �ertaining to the operation of the Fire Department were
discussed with theChief. � .
.The 'Board authorized the covering of the kitchen of the Central
Fire Station with linoleum.'

Matters pertaining to th e operation of the Electrical Department �

In the presence of Chief of Police L�ne, the Board discussed with
N�r. �,ualls the activities, so far unofficially entered into, the instal-
lation of t��o-t�vay radio (testino} and issued i�tructions that Officer
LnP.ue Wert be requested to furnish the Board with copies of ali commun-
� ic�tions sent and received by him in ��Z�e�'erence to two-:vay radio for
fi�ing in the office of the Board oF Publi'c 5afety and that in the
future any communications that he sends ou� or receives in regard to
the radio be referred to the Board and sent out under the signature oP
the Board so that th e Board may be fully advised at alI times of the
progreUs made.

Matters pertainin� to t he operation of the Police Department were
discussed• �rrith the chief.
Application for a position on tne golice Departz�nt was received
from DeJlight Delnar Smith and ordered �laced on file.
_ � City Traffic Engineer i��iller sub-�itted a report with a sketeh,
showi.ng that Lnotorists in traveling on Osborne Street west which dead-
ends on an alley cross Iot No. 44 in Gallager' s .Addition, and create
a hazard to chzldren playino in thevacant lot. The Board ordered that
the Clerk secure permission Pron the o°�vner of said lot to erect a barr-
icade. �

Mr. Burns submitted his report of tne activities of his Department
for tne week ending July 16, tvhich reportis on file in tne office of
the Board of Public Safety.
