FIRE DEPARTivTE1VT-Chief Freeh present: �
Matters pertaining to the operation of the Fire Departznent were dis-
cussed �vith the Chief. The Board granted the request of the Chief to pur-
ciiase six new shades for windows for No. 6 Fire Station, also two new bed
springs to replace worn out springs in the same station. -
ELECTRICAL DEPARTI�IIl�TT-r,7r. Qualis present:
Matters pert�i�ing to the operation of the Electrical Department
were discussed with Mr. �,ualls.
Mr. Qualls submitted a report of the operations o� the Police �adio
for the month of June, a copy. of which is furnisned each member of the
Board an d a copy pinced on Pile. �
POLICF DEPARTI�IEi�T- Chie�' Lane present: �
!� sp ecial Police Commission was approved in favor of Ray M. Smith
while emAloyed at th e Radio Alar�n Station.
Traffic Ehgineer Miller renorted on the results of traffic accidents
at LaSa11e Avenue and St, Louis Boulevard since the stop signs were
chan��d one year ago. Tiiis report is on file in .th e office of the Board
of Public Safety. •
Traf'f'ic �gineer n�iller renorted on the experience during the past
year since the removal o� traffic stop and go signs at Lineoln 'JYay �ast
and Bronson Streets and �ineoln Way East and Monroe Streets. This report
i� on file at the office of the Board of Public Safet3T.
r- Traffic �ngineer I�4iller submitted a request from the Union Bus Sta-
tion, 133 South Lafayette, for additi.onal bus loading space at the curb.
Mr. PJliller' s report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety,
outlining the effect of s�h a change. The Board after fu11y considering
the matter decided that no action �NOUld be taken at that time and ordered
that a copy of the report be sent to the Bus Station.
Applic�tion fo r a position on the Police Department was submitted by
Fred F. Medich, Jr. , a�d ordered placed on file.
Mr. Burns submitted his report of the activities of his Department .
