Regular Meeti�g of' the Board of Public Safety vras held on Mon�day, .
June 27, I938, at 8:45 A. M. All mer�bers were present. �Iinutes of the
previous meetin� were read and approved. Claims from the followzng sup-
pliers in the amount of �>1324,73 were �pproved and ordered paid, also
pa.yroll of the various Departmen-ts amountin g to �21,932.04. "

_ The Chi.ef reruested permi�sion for the various Firemen who ha.ve pas-
sed the examin<<tions and havE qualified as instructors in Red Cross to
vrear Red Cross emblems on their sleeve. Tne Board grarited t�xis permis-

POLICE DEP��.RTI�iENT - Chief Lane presen.t :
A communication v�as received from the Federa)�� Bureau of Investige=
tian of�ering training services to a police officer who had graduated
frc�m the Acadeny a year ago and the Chief recomsnended that the City take
ad���ntage of thi� additional service b;� sending Capt. Harold 'uVhitmer
to V'+'ashirgton, aecording to sechedule far ten days from July 1�� to 23,
and instructions were gi��n to make application in his favor which was
done.
The ChieF submitted a propos�l from Photostat Service of Cl�.icago,
affering to instalZ in th� Police Department �� photostat m�.chine at an
e�ense of approxima.tely �1200. �fter discussing this matter with the
Board, it vT�.s decided that this service was not of sufficient adva.ntnge
to the Pe�_ice Departr�ent to make the installation at this tine and the
pror,osal togEther with the catalog was filed for future reference.
Continuation Certificates covering Surety Bonds in favor of the
follov��ng Police Officers were approved by the Board and filed with the
origina.l bond: Fred DeLee, Albert Pope, Harold Whitmer, and. Richard
S�ickley.

Mr. Burns submitted his report of the activities of his Department
for the week ending June 25, showing 254 in��pections made. This report
is on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety.
