The Chief submitted a report of the activities of tne De�a.rtment
for the month of kpril, copy of which is on file in the of='.ice of the
BoGrd of Yublic Sufet� and a co�y fur3�ished each meraber of' tn.e Board.
Continuation Certificate in favor of George L. Faford, Special
Police 0�'ficer, vlas approved by the Board.
i+fr. Victor Richart, �7?Q I��Tishaw�.ka nvenue, reo,uested the establ-
lishment of a loading zoile in front of his pluce nf busi��ess. This
mutter was referred to Traffic En�;ineer Tdiiller for in`vestigatior an�
report.
Nirs. Gerard, wno operates the Gerard Lunch Room at Z3Q South Mdin
Street, and N1r. Clif ford Ducomb �^�rere nresent to discuss tn.e establish-
r�ent of a bus loading zone in front of t�e Lunch Room at 13Q South
n"a:in Street. Due tothe �'act that propert.y ov�ners h�id not come to an
a�ree�nent as to the desirabili�,y of t�is zone, the Bo�rd postponed
fi�a� action for or_e week. �
Cl�ief L�ne rBported that Forest G. Ha,y, a mortician, was �n�ill ing
to donate to the City a second-hand S�.yers � �covill ambul�nce e.ntireZy
free from encumbrance and without expecting any remuneration. It was
regularly moved , seconded and carried tn.at ivir. Hay' s �enerous of�'er be
a.ccepted. The Clerk was instructed to Uarite him, extending the a:pprec-
iution of the Board.

for the week ending Nay 7 , showing 13U inspections made. T�ir. Burns re-
ported t::�ut T���r. Baltas, Sta�e Insnector, ?rras in the CZt�T durin�? the �ast
t.veek testinF� coal se�les. He also report�d that the City scaies ��rere
found to be weighing 7Q lbs, heav,yT on a test of 13, 5U0 lbs. and that
Ptr. Baltas had. condernned these scales.
