POLICE DEP��FcTIG�i�TT - Chief Lane present:
The Chief reported on the communication o�' �Yayne �. I�iiiller ti�aith reference
to pedestrians using the street on '�ualnut �treet bet�veen �ample anci lndiana
Avenue instead of using the sidewalks. InT7estigation sh'o�r�ed tilat the re�son
for this probably was that the tivo drivew�ys of the �anders Lumber �omn•�:ny
are usually muddy and the Chie�' lvas instructed to get in �ouch with them in
this regard.
Application for a position on the Police Denartment was made by Thom�:s J.
Rutledge and l�v�s ordered nlaced on file.
Suret,y Bond iFr f3vor of Paul Thomas ivas apnroved by the Board.
The- Bo�_rd authorized the purchase for the Police �nbulance of one set
of life-guard inner tubes as a measure of safety in operatin� this fast-
going venicle.

TJtr. Burns subr.�itted his report of the activities in his Depart?rient for
the week ending March 19, shov�ring �76 inspections made. This report is on file
in the office op the Board of Public Safety.
