n�ny was for the co�tinuous , operation of traff'ic signals on State High-
w�:,,�s callin� for 24-hour service, the Board requested ivir. �;ualls to
bring in �n estima_te of tne additional cost of leaving all traffic sig-
nal lignts burning throu�hout tne City o�rer a 24-hour period per c.ay.

on the Folice Dep�rtment under �robtttion arran�ement for sir months, sub-
ject to phy�icaZ e���.min�.tion bST Police Physician and ulso sub ject to ac-
ceptance on the Police Pension �nd furtrier s�tbject to �ssi�;nment to dut-
ies by the Chz�f ef Police, service to begin on svlarch 16. �

ago for four neiv 19�8 motorcycles s�itnout additiona.l charge, the nrice '
o�' the t���o new motorcycles to be Y;500 each, delivery of tne nevv ones to

Traffic �ngineer P:Ziller mGde a report of � re�uest of C. P. Flick-
in�er, ����nager oi' Eckerd' s Drug Store, f'or a loading zone in "fro�t of � �
their store. After discussing this m�ltter fully, tYie Board decided to
perznit the establishment of tliis zone under a three z�onths tri�l arrange-
r�ent. Instructions wer� given to carry out this �lan.
Tra��'ic �n�ineer ��liller reported on his investigation of tne request
of Iti-Torri^ Burke, 2102 r�estern �'Lve. fbr the establishment of a loading
zone on '�r`arren �treet. The report sets out that 1Jir. Burke evidently has
some difi'iculty �vith an employee of the �inber i��ifg. Co. Gnd the b�locking
of his entrr3nnce ia a matter of spite titiork. �n�,ineer TJ�i_I_ler further states
that it is al�vays possible to park at the curb only a fey� steps a�aay, �d
recommended that no loading zone be established, hcti?i� on this report,
the Boa.rd ordered that PJIr. Burke be noti fied that his request could nat
be grznted.

Traffic �ngineer .��filler reported on the eliirii�ation o#' p�rk-
ing �n one side of LaSalle Court, cnd recommended that the nortn
��rest side of this Court shall be "no pGrkingt' area. The Bo�ra ap-
proved the reoor�nendation �nd_ nroper instructions V�ere issued.
Traffic Engineer Miller reported that a Mr. RusselZ '��hite,
re?�resentinJ the ��nericsn Pe2otorcycle .�ssociation, desired to hold
a motorcycle raee at Pl.aylan.d ��rk on July 4 of this year. The
Bo�rd, after considerin g this matter, oave instruction.� to not?fy
�2r. �''�hite to appeal to the �ouncil for authoritST.
Corltinu�tion Certificates covering Special Police Officer Com-
missions were received an d a�proved for Fr�nk Peters, J�anes Scott,
Jacob D. �'�rol.ie, and Joe IViillard and placed on file �t�vith the orig-
inal bond.
