ELECTRICAL DEPARTMIIVT - Mr. Qualls present:
P,�atters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department
ZA.�ere discussed and PJir. C�ualls was given authority, �fter having
conferred with the Chief of the Fire Department , to install a new fire
box at the corner of Michigan and Monroe Streets, also to transfer the
box at South and Franklin Streets to the corner of South and Taylor
Streets.
POLICE DIl'ARTMENT - Chief Lene and Assistant Chief Diedrich present:
The op eration of the Cafeteria Court va��s discussed and the Board
ordered the Clerk to notify ��Irs. Taylor a.nd Judge Avery to be present
at the next regular meeting of the BoPrd on January 3rd for a f�irther
discussion of the matter.
It was re�ularly moved, seconded and carried th�t, due to the
fact that l�ttayor Freyer�uth is in symp�thy witn and s�.netions the move-
ment, the Chief �rr�nge for a revised program of employment of the
men in the Police Department a.nd under the net�r arrangement to make up
a schedule vahich will give all policemen excepting those employed in
the Detective Bureau one day off in every ei�ht instead of one day
off in every fifteen as at present.
Special Police co�mission was issued to F.obert �izer v+�nile
employed �.s special policem�n at the Drewry Brevaing Compa.ny. Surety
bond is f'�.led v�.Tith the commission.
Continua�ion eertificates of surety bonds for the following
police officers tn.ere approved by the Board: William L. Welch, �dmund
Vitou,�,.Elmer So�kol, Karl Smith, John Searles, Doyal Rhymer, Bert �
Olmste�d, � Edwasd V. IUiorris, Casimir Kubiak, Louis Kish, Richard J.
Gillen, Ellsv�-orth Butz and Homer Ames.
Application for position on the Police Department was filed by
C�rl D. Hutts.
R�EIGHTS & MEASURES DEP�.RTil2EiVT - 1VIr. Burns present:
P,�r. Burns submitted his report af the activities of his debartr.�ent
for the week endin� December 25th, showing 243 inspections m�de. This
report is �on file in the office of the Board of PubZic Sa.fety.
