MEETING Novenber 29, 1937
Regular meetin� of the Board of Public Safety tivas held on
r�Ionday, November 29, 1937, at 9;15 A. P42. All members were present.
T�tinutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Requisitions in the Fire Department numbers 03919 to 03924
and in the Police Department numbers 943 to 954, inclusive, ��vere
approved. Claims, from the follov�ing suppliers, in the amount of
�226 . 23 v�Tere approved �s�.d ordered paia.

FIRE DEPARTMEI�TT - Chief Freeh present:
The Fire Chief requested the privilege of purchasing a drill
press at an expense of approximately �30.00 and one additional
inhalator for resuscitation purposes in the Fire Department, having
the approximate expense of �250.00. There being sufficient funds
in the budget available for these purposes, the I3oard authorized
the purchase to be made.
Applicatian for position on the Fire Department v+as submitted
by Earl Cutner and ordered placed on file.
ELECTRICl�L DEPL�RTMEtVT - idr. �,ualls present:
1t2atters pertaining to the oper�tion oF the Electrical Department
were discussed �vith Mr. �ualls.
1�4r. �,ualls stated he had conferred with the Fire Chief x�ith
reference to installation of one additi�n�l fire box in the City,
and they having decided upon a loc�tion for it and there being
sufficient funds in the budget, it was regularly moved, seconded
and carried that the purchase be made.
POLICE DEPARTMENT - Chief Lane Present:
The Chief recommended that a very careful investigation be
made before additional motorcycles are purchased next year, as he
reported tile Indian Lnachines purch�sed about a year ago had not
given the satisfaction that they should have. The Clerk of the Board
was directed to communicate with the Indian l�Iotorcycle Company U�ith
regard to this matter.
Continuation certificate covering special police o�ficer's
commission in fevor of John Leader was approved by the Board.
� petition signed by fourteen menbers of the Executive Doard,
Studebaker Local �5, requesting that favorable consideration be
given Frank Kolasar for re-appointnent to the Police Force ivas
submitted to ths Board. There being no vacancies on the Force at
the present time, this petition �^�as ordered placed on Pile titi-ith
AlIr. Kolasar's applic�.tion.
Continuation certificate covering surety bond of Fr�nk J'anko`^dski
was �pproved by the Boerd.
Application �'or po�ition on the Police Department v,,as submitted
by Floyd C. Hummer, also Earl F. Cutner, and ordered placed on file.
The Chief informed the Board that the Gill-Vorn Chevrolet
Company v�ere ready to deliver a netv Safety Car to take the place of
the present Accident C�r, it being maroon in color and to be painted

with cream letters. This new car to be �zrnished the Police �:,
Department free of expense to the City, with the understanding
that it be used by the Police Department and that at the end .of
1938 it revert to Gill-Vorn Chevrolet Company as their property.

Mr. Burns submitted his report for th� week ending November 27th,
shovaing 224 inspections made. This report is on� file in the office
of the Board of Public Safety. �
