Mr. Anderson and Mr. Woodward were absent. The Mayor acted as ex-officio member of the Board. Minutes of the previous meeting were read. and approved. Requisitions in the Fire Department numbers 03872 to 03879 and in the Police Department �numbers 889 to 896, inclusive, were approved. FIRE DEPARTMFNT� - Chief Freeh absent: Application for position as fireman was submitted by William Henry Heiermann and ordered placed on file. POLICE DEPARTMIIJT - Assistant Chief Diedrich present: The Assistant Chief� discussed with the Board various phases of - the operation of the Police Department during the past wesk. A petition was received, � signed by twelve residents in the affeeted area, asking that �the Board re-establish the right of parking on the west side of Cushing Street: As this matter was referred to TrafPic Engineer Miller several weeks ago and his recom- mendation concurred in that parkin� on the west side of Cushing Street from the filling station south �for 100 ft. be established as no parking, the Board instructed that the petitioners be -so informed. Mr. G. R. MacGregor; - manager of the National Mill Supply Company, requested that a loading zone- be es�ablished in front of their place of business on Monroe� Strest-and on Carroll� Street. This matter was referred to Traffic Ehgineer �Miiler, whose report is on file in which he did not recommend establishing these loading zones. The Board ordered that a copy of his report be sent to �the National Mill Supply Company asking their cooperation with the report. Communication was received from Traffic Ehgineer Ernest H. �1liller recommending that the traffic signals at Ewing Avenue and Miami Street and at Madison and �Eddy�Streets be eliminated; and his reason for this is included in the report�now on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety. The Board� gave instructions to �notify ��r. �ualls to remove these signals at the same time that stop signs are placed. WEIGATS & NIEASURES DEPARTM�NT: Mr. Burns submitted his report of the operation of his department far the week endin� October 16th, showing 269 inspections made.
