Requisitions in the Police Department nunbers 796 to 805 and in the Fire Department numbers 03805 to 03810, inc�usive, were approved. Upon request of the Chief, the Board granted permiGsio� to send one firem�n to the Indiana Fireman's Associ�tion at N:uncie, Indiana the 16th, 17th and 18th of August. - POLIGF: DEPARTIvIENT - Chief Lane present: � IVtatters pertaining to the operation of the Police Department � were discussed with the Chief. The question o� the use of sidewulks by merchants of the City was discussed, and the Chief was instructed to enforce Ordinance ti�rith reference to this matter. Applica_tion for position on the Police Departr�ent v�as presented by Felix Esarey and ordered placed on file. Special police officer's commission ir_ f�vor of Frank Salay, while employed as 14�erchant Policeman, titias approved by the Board.
