Regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, ,�
Ma.y 17, 1937, at 8:45 k. M. Al1 members were tiresent.
P��Iinutes of the previous meeting �^�ere read and approved.
Requisitions in the Fire Department numbers 03720 to 03723,
inclusive, and in the Police Department numbers 587 to 600, inclusive,
were approved. Clai.ms in the amount of �327. 22, frorn the f'ollowing
suppliers, were approved and ordered paid.

FIRE DEPARTNENT - Chief Freeh� present:
Ma.tters pertaining to the oneration of the Fire De�artnent were
discussed and the Chief was au�horized to purchase for the` Central
Fire Station one bed spring, also nine window shades, and at No. 8
Fire Station two mattresses and repair of plaster.
A discussion v�as had regarding a small shed now standing on No. 4
Hose House property and the Chief recommended that this be torn dotivn,
which was authorized by the Board. � '
ELECTRICAL DEPr'1RTME�VT - :Utr. C�ualls present:
Mr. Qualls re�orted regarding various activZties in his department.
POLICE DEPl�?TPIIENT - Chief Lane �resent:
The Chief discussed �^rith the Board m�tters pertainin� to the
operation of the Police Department.
?��r. Ernest Miller submitted a request from the Studebaker Corp-
oration to prohibit parking on the titiest side of LaFayette Street fro�
Tutt Street south for a distance of 40 ft. and stated that Studebakers
tvould purchase the signs and do the painting. After considering the
matter, the Board decided to permit this �arkir.g restriction.
Mr. Harold l�hitmer, ti�ho is in charge of taFget pr«ctice acti-
vities, rec�uested that the re-loading equipment and supplies noVr the
�nroperty of Officer Harold V�ilson be acc�uired by the City and that
reloading of shells be done by �.n officer on the Police Force. The
e�nense of this equipment and supplies to be approximately �100.00.
The Bo�zrd suggested that a. detailed statement of the ecuipment and
suppliES bE subrriitted for consideration at the next meeting.

Richard Arthur Stickley and ordered placed on file.
V6'EIGHTS & MEASURES DEP�Tr,7ENT - T�Zr. Burns �aresent:
Mr. Burns submitted his report of the activities of his department
for the vaeek ending May 14th, shov��ing 416 inspections m�de. This revort
is on file in the office of the Bo�rd o�' Public Saiety.
