Property turners d,.1)pe4red from Kendall Street and requested that, Kendall Street between Indiana Avenue and Culvert Street b-e paved. Resolution ordered. City Attorneys appeared before the Board In .regard to a garage in alley in Henrick-s & Grants Addition and scat:d that Mr. Uiller unformed him that he intended to bring a quiet title suit for alley and make the City and Mr. Wm. Smith partkes to suit, -Is d City Attorney requested the Board not to tape any further action until suit, is over. The Board had tC. the matter of paying for pert of the improvement on Madison Street --Nhere the�Chieago, South Bend __ Northern Indiana Railway Co. had thirt right of.way with R. R. Smith Mgr., and he stated he was willing to go ahead thebalce of this year and extend the -same offer as on South Michigan Street, B rd-requested Mr. Smith to send a letter to the Board regarding Mas.��eet, which Mr. Smith agreed to ego. City Engineer had up the matter of defective walk on Indiana Avenue put In under contract,of Bruno De Peape and Bruno De Peape was ordered to replace all patched and cracked blocks of sidewalk on Indiana Avenue to the satift'altion of the City Engineer. . Building Commissioners report for the month of July 1922 read and placed on file. Permission granted to the Indiana Bell Tel. Company to set poles at 630 E . Broadway. Remonstrance filed against pavement on Harrison Avenue from Lincoln Way West to California Avenue. Pole and Wire Inspector reported on complaint about pole on Lot 111 Cherry Street which is in the way gf a driveway to a new garage. Same to be reset at once to clear driveway. 332 Tuesday August 8th., 1922. Continued. Renewal certificate for the sum of One Thousand ($19000.00) Dollars for Joseph Colbert approve. Complaint filed about contractor.on Hill Street Grading and sidewak contract not starting work. Board instructed Clerk to notify Contractor to start work immediately as time was partly up for contract and they will forfeit bond. Petition received and resolution ordered for grade., curb and walk on 12th. 13th. 14th. and 15th. Street from Mishawaka Avenue to the Grand Tru nk Railroad and Hastings°and Wall Street from the alley betwee n Clifford Court and 12th. Street. 1 Petition filed nd resolution ordered for grade, curb and walk on College Street fx= and Brookfield Street frdn Humboldt Street to Elwood Ave. Waiver signed by property owners on Harper Court for pavements same read and referred to the City Engineer for to•be checked as to the names on same. Layton, Street Commissioner, e/O Bd. of Public Works; South Bend, Indiana. • Dear Sir Relative to ©ur communication to you of July 23rd. concerning the occupancy of the proper*y at the Northwest corner of Lafayette and South Streets by the Street Department, it will be entirely agreeable to modify the rental terms stated therein as folio s: 1. EffZctive July lr19 t and for each month following the rental to be $25.00 per month payable monthly 2.
