MEETING October 26, 1936 � .� Regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on DZonday, � October 26, 1936 , at 9 x. T�2. All members tivere present. Requisitions in the Fire Department numbers 03530 to 03535 and in the Police Department numbers 209 to 2�� were approved. Claims in the amount of �447.09 in the various departments, from the follow- ing suppliers, �vere approved and ordered paid. Recreation Equipment Co. ;�46.00 Dr. Thomas B. Iires�e Co. 2.40 City ti'later tiJorks 2.47 Dr. Pauszek, Police Surgeon, submitted his report of services re�dered to police and firemen during the months of June, Tuly, Kugust and Septenber, v�rhich reports are on file in the office of the Board of Publie Safety. tiVEIGHTS & N�ASURES DEPARTl�NT - Mr. Burns �resent: i��2r. Burns subinitted his report of inspections for the past c�eek shovring 282 inspections made. t�:Ir. Burns also reported that he had on several occasions been requested to make inspections and test electrical meters, but that no equipment is o�ned by the City for doing this work. The Board in- structed him to refer all such inspections to the Indiana & T.Tichigan Electric Company, as no funds are provided to purchase equipment to do the v�ork by the City. FIRE DEPARTI�IENT - Chief Freeh present: T�,iatters pertaining to the operation of the Fire Departrnent vaere discussed �Tith the Chief. � The Chief stated that the boilers at the Central Station are practically out of commission and it is vrith difficulty that they are securing heat. The Board instructed him to keep the boilers in best repair �possible until after the final disposition of the 1937 budget. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - iti•Tr. Qualls present: I�Zatters pertaining to the operation of the Electrical Department were discussed �rith r�jr. �ualls. T��Ir. �ualls submitted a report of Francis J. Bock, Chief Radio Operator, of his attendance at the ��lational Convention of Associated Police Communication Officers held at Davenport , Io�ra, October 5th, 6th and 7th. This report is on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety. POLICE DEPARTMEPdT - Assistant Chief Diedrieh present: I;Iatters pertaining to the operation of the Police i�epartment �vere discussed ��ith the Chief. A communication from I�rIadge �iJood�vard Romine , coMplimenting the � Police Detiartment and the Street Department f or nrompt and efficient ser�rice rendered, ��ras presented to the Board and ordered placed on file . after the Police Department and Street Department vaere furnished a copy. ::-1r. John Buzolich of the City Dairy Company �vas present and discussed ��ith the Board the accident reported by Officers ivils Hansen and Louis i�ish under date of October 3rd at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Carroll Street, at which time Car No. 13 tivas put out of cor�rnission. The complete file in this matter vaas ordered turned over to the City Attorney f'or his attention. ��pplication for position on the Police Department ti�ras presented by Tv:elvin J.
