Regular meetin� of the Board of Public Safety ti�as held on iionday,
August 10, 1936, at 9:15 A. P�T. All Members vaere present.
T:�iinutes of previous meeting vrere read and approved.
Requisitions in the PoZice Department nurnbers I.00 to 116 and in
the rire Departinent numbers 03464 to 03468, inclusive, i�rere approved.
Claims in the amount of �l,565.66, from the follo���ine suppliers, izere
approved and ordered paid, also payroll of the various departments
ar,lounting to �17 ,065.35.

In re�ard to traffic control at ��Jestern Avenue and 'y�`alnut Street,
rir. �,ualls submitted reeom..mendation for re-arrange�ent of traffic
lights in ti�hich a si�n for left-hana turns ti�ould be installed beneath
si�nal and another signal placed for through traffic , and stated these
changes could be riade at a cost of u�52.00 using si�nals on hand. It
rras re�ularly r,ioved, seconded and carried that this re-arran�ement of
traffic li�;hts be made.

The Board received resignation of hlfred Lentz as a member of
the rire De ,artment as of t�ugust 15, 1936r and by regular rnotion it i=aas
acc ted. �i�v� eks vacation alloti�aed, he �rill remain on payroll until

not qualified for appointment as a mei:�ber o� the Fire Department

The Board, upon regular motion seconded and carried, appointed Yenneth
�raterson and nndrer� Varoyas as �enbers of tiie r ire Departr;�ent
eifective ��ueust loth and Cecil i:;cHenry and �arl Ivull , ��hose apnoint-
ments become eifective September lst, all subject to physical `
exaraination by tne Police and Fire Pnysician and the Pension �'hysician,
to assignment of duties by the Chief and on probation for six month
period.
Upon motion made by I:ir. nnderson, seconded by I:ir. �'ioodcrard and
re�ularly carried, the follo:�rin�; pro�otions r•rere made to become
effective nu�ust 16, 1936:

POLICE DEPARTMr`�IT - Chief Lane Present:
The T�layor ti�ras present and the matter of over night parkin� iaas
diseussed. The Board instructed the Chief of Police to enforce traffic
ordinance pronibiting night parking from 2 1�. Ii. to 5 A. T�i. on paved
streets. This is to enable the Street Department to clean tne streets
at that time.
The Board gave instructions to invi�e i��Ir. Geor�e L. �ulison,
I'rosecuting l�ttorney, to be present at their next meeting on �.�onday,
�ugust 17th, at ten o' clock.

ld.r. Burns riade his report of inspections made during the past
�eek, sho��ing the number of inspections to be 225, �ahich report is on
file in the office of the Board of �ublic Safety.
