police officers were approved by the Board and placed on file:
Arden M. Kline, B��ichael Gresezyk, John Stasinski , Robert Watt,
Paul NZcCarroll and �rnest F. Busch.
�pplication for position on the Police Department was received
from Ernest Ii. Miller. Physieal examination by the Police Surgeon
shovved a favorable report and he recommended him f or duty on the
department. After carefully analyzing the applieation and the Board
finding that b'Ir. r�iller's �reight vras less than they required in the
application, namely; 160 lbs. , he v�eighing t�velve pounds less than
this, the Board upon regular motion made by Btlrr. Anderson, seconded
by &Zr. ��oodrvard and carried decided to waive the weight requirement
in this partieular case, due to the speeific duties to which this
officer would be assigned, his duties being of an engineering nature
in .connection �rith a recently organized Acaident Prevention Bureau.
��r. Miller was appointed to duty eff ective J'une 8th, subject to
re�;ular requirement of six months probation and assi�nment by the
Chief oP Police.
The matter of street marker ti�as brought up and the Secretary
submitted a proposition from the G. ��. Spiess Equipment Company
together with literature in �rhich the City was oPPered a marker at
a price of :�390.00 delivered. Instructions were given to
investigate the matter further and to secure prices from other
manufacturers of like equipment to be submitted to the Board at a
later meeting. Also that the Secretary investigate the aecount to
which such a purchase can properly be charged without endangering
budget limitations.

Special meeting of the Board of Public Safety vr�as held on
�lednesday, June 10, 1936, at 3 P. M. �11 members rvere present.
The purpose oP the meeting vaas to issue instructions to the
Clerk of the Board of Public SaPety to issue aYfidavits in favor
of Charles J. Burns f'or salary from January lst to June 15th, 1936,
and to continue ldr. Burns on the regular payroll of the Department
oP �r�eights & ��easures on the basis of the salary established by
the budget.
