- Applications far special Police commissions were approved for �
Lawrence Krotch and Edward J. LeCout�ur. Theso rvere ordered held for
bond. Bonds were approved for Jesse Higgens and Edward J. Luther.
A let�er of reaignation was received from Police �fficer Peter Marko�
dated June 11, 1944 and effective July 28, 1944. This resignation �as not
accepted by the Board.
An application for a posi�ion on the Police Department was recoived
from 4°dalter x. r�icKnight. This �1as ordered placed on file.
FIRE DEPAR73�iENT: Chief DeVleeschovTer inforr:ied the Board that John �ndrew
ilchal� and Kenneth J�nes Tubbs had passed their physical exam3nations
�and had been accepted by the Board of Firemens Pension Trustees, and the
Board, therefore, directed that �hey should be placed on active du�y
effective June 16, 1944 for a probationary period of six months.
VIEIGHTS AI�TD 1�iEASURES: Mr. Charles Burns, City Sealer, filed his report
for the week ending June 10, 1944.
ELECTRICAI, DEPARTMENT: T�Tr. �Yilliam Qualls, Superintendent, was present
and matters pertaining to his department were discussed.

A regular meeting of the BoArd of Public Safety was held on 1G'Ionday,
June 19, 1944 at 10:00 A.I�i. All members were -present. 1Vlinutes of the
last meeting were read and approved. There were no bills to b e approved.
POLICE DEPARTMENT: Chief Everett was present and matters pertaining to his
departmen� were discussed.

An application for the Police Departrient �vas received from �alph
Dewey Fields. This vJas ordered filod. •
� Robert Pasalich, a member of the South Bend Police Departznent� having
been inducted into the Armed For ces of �he United States, is granted a
two weeks vacation with pay and herebg reserves a11 righ�s granted to him
b y law and by this Board.
