2. That the present jail quarters be thoroughl� cleaned, that they may be
rid of al1 vermin; repainted throughou�; and that wall lights be so
improved and adjusted as to provide ad��quate liohting in each cell.
3. That for bett�r ventilation, �ecurity, and jail safety, grill.ed 3ai1
doors replace present solid metal doors, as early as possible.
4. That official �ail rules as prescribed by statute, be pos�ed and
closely iollowed.

Depar�ment, to go to the designated Doctors for a physical e�amination.

to his department tivere discussed.
rJlr. Nye of the '1Jar i�anpower Commission tivas present at the meeting
to discuss the possibility of Firemen tvorking at other �obs on their
time off duty. It vaas the decision of the Board that this was not feasible
because firemen off duty are still on call if an emergency arises, and if
vsorking someplace else they would be inaccessible £or emergency duty.

A delegation of Firemen appeared before the Board to discuss
the possibility of �'iremen �rorking at other jobs ontheir day off.
1�2r. Russell xoffman acted �s Chairman, and -the co�r�nittee was composed
of Richard Duck, lrlichael Kuminecz, Lottie Borl,o�vsl�i, John C. Hen�y
and Lloyd Stickley. rdo decision v�ras reached. `�he Committee iJill submit
a list of jobs tivhich they feel the Fire�� en could be per_nitted to do
on their off time, vrhich will be discussed at a further r.meeting.
