PJIEETING - August 23, 1943
A regular meetin� of the Board of Public Safety was held on I��Zonday,
August 23, 1943 at 10 :00 A.M. All members were present. �Iinutes of the

ELECTRICAL DEPARTP,ZENT: Mr. �illiam Qualls, superintendent, was authorized
b�T the Board to attend the National Convention of Fire Alarm Qperators,
in Cleveland, September 27, 28 and 23th. This permission having been
previously given is no�v coni irried and ratified.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the
meeting was ad�ourned at 11�00 a.m.

POLICE DEPARTllIENT: Chief Everett tivas present and matters pertaining to
his department were discussed.
�fficer Crist of the Police Department wes granted the right to
attend the University of Northwestern Police School for a four and one-
half term, beginnin� September 12, 1943, with pay.
An application for a special Police Commission was approved for
Brook Bower. This was ordered held for bond. Bonds for special Police.-
rlen were approved for Roma L. Geiger and George Deu'Vitte. These were
ordered f i1ed.
FIRE DEPARTMEVT: Chief DeVleeschower was present and matters pertaining
to his depar�ment were discussed. •
The Fire Chief notified •the Board of various items needed •by his
department and Mr. ititilliams was requested �o preparQ specifications for
same.
