Wednesday April 5th., 1922, Board met in special sewsion at 9:00 A.M. All members present. ' Dear Sirs: - This letter wi11 confirm the verbal understanding between the Board of Public Works and the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana Railway Company in regard to the paving of South M#chigan Street from a point 40 feet north of Fairview Street to Donmeyer Avenue. on account of the new condition created by the surrender of the Railway Company's franchises, whereby the railway Company is relieved of the necessity of paying for that portion of the pavement between its rails, and for one foot outside ofits rails, the Railway Company has.agreed titb the Board of Public Works as follows: First; The Railway Company at its expense, will lay a new track in the center of the street from a ill also 40 thefeet curveofrom the eenter ofof Fairview reet to Michiganakaide StreetSleading The Railway Company y into Oakside, Street. Be It Res©lved by the Board of Public Werks of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to improve Michigan Street from Donmeyer Avenue to the south City Limits as follows, to -wit: - The street shall be graded and a strip twenty-four (24) feet wide in the ,center of -,the street shall be paved, also the roadways of certain portions of the streets and alleys which enter or intersect said street shall be graded and paved.
