Mr. Samuel Leeper appeared before the Board and presented a Plat of Samuel ✓ Leeper' s first addition to the City of South Bend? Ind, The sane was approved by the Board. Mr. Miller appeared before the Board and rFmonstraneed against the Central ✓Union Telephone Co. placing; a guy wire in front of house at 609 W. Marion Street. This matter was turned over to the City Pole and Wire Inspector to investigate. Mr. George Witwer appeared before the Board and requestedpermission for a side-track on :the' New York Central Fy. Co. for the Studebaker Corporation. The same was granted as follows: -- Permission to the New York Central Fy. Co. to build a side- track from Studebaker Corporation foundry to connect with the Grand Trunk Ry• crossing alley just east of 'Walnut Street and South of Huron Street crossing said alley at the same point where the present spur now crosses said alley all in accordance with blue print filed this 2nd.1 day of November91915 with the Board of Public Works and approved this 2nd. day of Noember,1915. Bids received for the printing of electric light record. The sane granted to The R. W. Gafill Bindery for the amount of $20.50 The Indiana & Michigan Electric Light company sent notice that an SOC.P. incandes cent lamp was placed in service at Short Navarre Street at ist. alley west of Street run .ning North Lamp No. 131. Affidavits of proofs of publication of the Franchise of the St. Joseph Heating Company on Me 23rd. day, of October,1915 was filed by Chas. E. Crockett, for the South Bend Daily Tribune, W. H. YEAGLEY being first duly sworn upon his oath says: That on the'23rd. dad of October91915, he posted copies of a franchise of which the annexed, marked "Exhibit A,• " is a true and correct copy, in the follow- ing places in the City of South Bend, to -wit:- One at the court house, one at City Hall,. one at the .corner of Fain and Marion Streets; one at the corner of Navarre and Park Avenue; one at the corner of Cushing and Van Buren ; one at the corner of Lafayette and Jefferson; one on Taylor and Division Street; one at the corner of Jefferson and Vistula Avenue; one at Jefferson and Eddy Street; one at 920 Park Avenue, and fu"ther affiant saith not. Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. All members present. 1­1_Hearing given on Condem nation Resolution No. 42 for the WidenQng of Alley fro%:North line of Colfax Avenue to the Sout�aerly line of Lincoln Way West, In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was filed* and the Board thereupon being Fully advised in the matter takes final action on said resolution, confirming without modification, all former action taken on the same. The Board therefore declares the above property in all things condemned and appropriated for public use,, the Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all the owners or holders of property and. of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which said list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected. In regard to hearing oYq the resolution for the vacation of 4 ft off of lot 35 Original Plat of South Bend, the same was deferred tutil November 16th,.,1915. at 7:45 P.M. The Board instructed the City Engineer to make assessments for the sewer `taps on Michigan Street Trunk sewer equal on both sides of the Street. In regard to the awarding of the contract for the Macadam Pavement on Bartlett Street from East line of St. Joseph Street to Riverside Drive, the same was awarded to H. N. Barnes for the sum of $454.40 The following waiver being filed by the property owners. WAIVER. That, whereas, on the 13th. day of July,19151 the'Board of Public Works, of the City of South Bend, Indiana, Aopted a resolution No. 401 for the grading and paving of that portion of the roadway lying between the north end of the present macadam pavement and the north -curb line of Bartlett Street produced east, which curb line is 53 feet north of the south line of said Bartlett Street. The pavement to consist of three inches of macadam on either a four inch gravel or cinder base, toget-h7r with the necessary cement curb, marginal cement curb, and -storm ,F!ater inlets and conduits. And, whereas, said Board subsequently modified said resolution by ex- cluding therefrom the grading., and said resolution was confiz^med by said Board. And, whereas, tne`undersigned are the owners of the property adjacent to said proposed improvement, and who will be assessed for the cost thereof,THEREFORE In consideration that said Board of Public Works causes said improvement to be :made in the manner as proposed, we, the undersign. d, hereby waive any and all objections to any defects in the procedure of said board in making said improvement, and hereby consent that said improvement shall be made in the mmner as above set forth, and according to the plans and specs ications for said improvement adopted by -said Board; and that their property may be assessed in the manner provided by law for making assessments for street improvements.. Chicago, Ill. The Indiana & Michigan Elea. Co. was ordered notified -to remove pole owned by their comparkv in the way of a drive at rear of 2220 W. Division St. on the west side of alley south from Division Street close beside the last post of the wagon shed. Permission was granted the Postal Telegraph Co. to set poles on the south side of Lincoln Way West bet een Olive Street and La Porte Avenue inside of curb, these to be used jointly with the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry. Co. 0 President. _
