Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.B. All members present.
Attorney Elmer Peak'appeared before the Board and requested them to have
r/ fence thdt was now being constructed by the City on the East side. of Lincoln Way
East from the Grand Trunk Ry., right of way north to be extended full length of City
property on this street. The Board took said matter under advisement and informed
Mr. -Peak that. they would go and look over said situation.
Bids were received opened and read for grade, curb and walk on Ford Street
from Arnold Street to east end of Ford Street. The same were referred to the City
Engineer for tabulation to be reported at meeting of 7:45 P.M.
Partial estimate allowed Harry N. Barnes f'or curb and walk on Robinson Street
✓ for the amount Of ............. $143.83.
The Engineer filed the estimated cost of the pipe sewer on Fox Street from
,/ St. Joseph St. to Fellows Street at ............$1,990.00
Excavation bond for the.sum of One Thousand ($1,2000.00)Dollars signed by
✓ William F. Wagner as principal and United States, Fidelity & Guaranty Co. of Baltimore
as surety was approved by the Board.
Permission was granted C.C. Miller, Contractor on the Raglefs Lodge building
to close alley between Marion Street and La Salle Avenue to the lst. alley running
ni north and south for the period of thirty (30) days*
Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for Grade, curb ,walk and
Gravel Road on Hill Street from Corby Street to Howard Street, under Improvement
v Resolution No. 359. In the Cite of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for
six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the 25th* day of
October,1915., stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such asses&
ments at Its -'office in the City Hall on the 9the day of November,1915 at 7:45 P-M--
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above'contract be ac-
cepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution
shall be published on the 25th. day of November in the South.Bend Daily Tribune
stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its of'fie

Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M: All members present.
✓ Hearing had on Imp-ovement Resolution No. 409 for the Pipe,sewer on Indiana
Averse from Michigan Street to Main Street, In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed.
And, the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the ebenfits to pro-
perty liable to The assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of
the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action
on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things, rati-
fied confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that the notices be published on the 23rd, day of Oebober
1915 and on the 30th. day of October,1915. in &:-.newspaper of general circulation
in said -City, stating hat - this Board will receive bids for the construction of said
Improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 9th. day of November01915.. The Board reserves the
right to reject any and all bids.
Miss Brown Principal of the Franklin School appeared before the Board
✓ and requested permission to close a part of Clinton Street at the school house
one half hour in morning and one half hour in afternoon during recess time for the
children to play sin. The Board .stated that the same - was agreeable with them pro-
viding property owners did not object.
In regard to hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 23 for vacation of
four feet of alley at rear of lot 30. O.P.South Bend, the same was deferred until
November 2nd.1915. at 7:45 P.M. Property owners affected to be notified to come in
-to hearing.
Contract for curb and walk on Ford Street from Arnold Street to east
end of Ford Street awarded to H. N. Barnes.
All action on petition for curb and walk on West Indiana Avenue deferred
until Tuesday November 23rd.191S. at 7:45 P.M.
The Board decided that the contract of the St. Joseph Heating Company
v to enter in and Opon certain streets, avenue-s, alleys, bridges and public places,
within said City, ,and, therein to onttruet,lay,operate and maintain a system of con-
duits, pipes, mains, conductors and service pipes together with all necessary branches
and out off and other utilities for the purpose of furnishing and conveying steam for
heating end other purposes to public and private consumers within said City, granting
also the right to enter upon said streets, alleys, bridges, avenues and public place
to make repairs, be advertised according to law Saturday October 23rd.1915 in two
daily newspapers and a hearing on same set for at 10:00 A.M. on November 9th.,1915 at
thie office in the City Hall.
