Bids were received, opened and react for pipe sewer on the following streets and were referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported back at 7:45 P.M. this 20th. day of July,1915. St. Peter and Sorin Street From St Louis Blvd. to Eddy Street. Leeper Avenue from Angella Avenue to Howard Street. Jaquith Court from Prairie Avenue to a point 115 ft. east of Chapin St. ✓ Bids were received on Macadam pavement on Tonti Avenue from Lafayette Street to Tecumseh Avenueq and meferred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be re- ported on at 7:45 P.M. this 20tho day of July,1915. RESOLUTION. Resolved by the Board that notices be sent to all companies having any, underground work in the underground district proper to commence work immediately and have same finished this summer. Petition filed for a water trough on southeast corner of Mishawaka Avalue and South 7th., Street. The same was referred to the Superintendent of Water Works. Partial estimate allowed H.N. In reference to your recent in juiry, I advise you that the State Industrial Board has written me to the effect that under Section 68 of this act, they will not require cities to carry insurance upon the employees of the City, and that it will not be necessary for the city to make any showing as to its financial ability to pay for any lose accruing under the statute. Hearing had on Condemnation Resolution No. 39 for the Widening of Eddy Street and Mishawaka Avenue from Jefferson Blvd. to East line of Pottowatomie Park, In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was filed. The Board after due consideration decided to defer said hearing until Tuesday August 10th.,1915. at 7:45 'P.M. In the matter of the hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 23 for the vacation v ad four feet off Lot 35nO. Plat South Bend, the same was deferred until,Tuesday August loth • 21915 at 7 45 P. 14. The City Engineer submitted the list of property owners in the matter of the app rop riation of certain property under Condemnation Resolution No. 35for the opening of alley east of St. Peter Street from Howard Street to First Alley North of Howard Street ,uv icft: list: includes< the . names of the owners and holders of property and of interests therein sought to be taken or benefically or injuriously effected and!he description of the several pieces of property which is affected by the said app rop riat ion proceedings. Thereupon the Board proceeds to award the damages sustained and to assessV the benefits accruing to each piece of property upon said list. It s thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded and unanimously adopted, resole that said list, together with the amounts of benefitsand damages and net benefits and net damages therein set forth as to the several parcels of land be adopted and ordered spread upon this record by reference, and that the respective amounts of benefit*d contained in ,said list be and are hereby assessed against the several tracts of land as specifically set forth in said list, and that the respective amounts of damages.contained in the said list be and are hereby awarded to the several tracts of land as specifically set forth in said list, and that the net benefit or net damages, as the case may be as to the respective tracts of land, contained in said list are hereby awarded or assessed, as the case may be as to the said several tracts of land.
