amendment to the agreement for the redesign of the South Bend Fire Department Training
Center Classroom Building in the amount of $21,000.

This is EXHIBIT K, consisting of 2 pages, referred to in
and part of the Agreement between Owner and Engineer
for Professional Services dated February 13, 2018.
AMENDMENT TO OWNER -ENGINEER AGREEMENT
Amendment No. 1
1. Background Data:
a. Effective Date of Owner -Engineer Agreement: February 13, 2018
b. Owner: Board of Public Works, City of South Bend, IN
Engineer: Epoch Architecture + Planning
d. Project: South Bend Fire Department Training Center Classroom Building
2. Description of Modifications:
a. Engineer shall perform or furnish the following Additional Services:
1) Engineer shall redesign the project to include a traditional framing system consisting
of wood or metal studs for exterior load -bearing walls. Roof structure will be
redesigned for pre-engineered trusses or light gauge metal trusses. The roof will also
be redesigned to eliminate the covered walkway area of the project; the connection
to the existing building will remain. All furniture will be provided by the owner and
excluded from the bid documents. USB cabling for table mounted USB outlets will
be excluded from the bid documents. The following shall be listed as an add
alternate in the bid documents:
a) All gypsum board finishing including but not limited to base trim, corner guards,
window sills, painting, taping and sanding, including the gypsum board material
for walls and gypsum board ceilings.
b) All casework.
c) Suspended acoustical ceiling systems including, grid system, lay -in acoustical
panels, and suspended acoustical panels.
d) Electrical floor boxes will be reduced to ten and listed as an add alternate.
e) Training Room AN equipment and wiring.
f) Security system rough -ins
g) Door proximity card readers and manual keypads.
b. The Scope of Services currently authorized to be performed by Engineer in accordance
with the Agreement and previous amendments, if any, is modified as follows:
1) Provide complete structural design services for "stick -built" wall and roof framing
and associated foundations.

2) Provide one (1) Construction Cost Estimate based on redesigned project documents
prior to advertisement of bids.
c. The responsibilities of Owner are modified as follows:.
1) Owner will be responsible for acquiring furniture for the project.
d. For the Additional Services or the modifications to services set forth above, Owner shall.
pay Engineer the following additional or modified compensation:
1) Twenty -One thousand dollars and zero cents ($21,000.00)
e. The schedule for rendering services is modified as follows:
1) We propose completing; redesigned documents 60 calendar days from notice to
proceed.
5. Agreement Summary (Reference only)
a. Original Agreement amount: $ 50,830.00
b. Net change for prior amendments: $ 0.O0
c. This amendment amount: $ 21„000.00

The foregoing Agreement Summary is for reference only and does not alter the terms of the Agreement,
including those set forth in Exhibit C.
Owner and Engineer hereby agree to modify the above -referenced Agreement as set forth in this
Amendment. All provisions of the Agreement not modified by this or previous Amendments remain in
effect. The Effective Date of this Amendment is August 14 2018.
