Hon. Board of Public Works,
✓ South Bend, Ind.
Gent lemdq : —
With reference to the proposed sewer on Michigan Street extending from
La Salle Ave., to Monroe Street, I wish ,o advise you that I, at my own expense.
have heretofore constructed a sewer upon my own property without encroaching upon
public property at all or upon the property of any other real estate owner and have
connected my property through said sewer direct to the river.
The property in which I am interested is known on the City maps as No.
.32 North Michigan Street. In view of the fact that this sewer is of ample size and
can always be maintained by me upon my own property, I do not desire any connection
to be made with the Michigan Street sewer and do not believe that I should be assessed
for any benefits accruing to me from the construction of the said sewer
Inasmuch as I am intending to contest any assessment against this pro—
perty for the construction of this sewer, for reason of the above stated facts, I am
writing this letter to the end that the additional expense for tap may be eliminated.
Yours very truly,
E. A. IRELAND.
