Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present.
Mr. Taylor appeared before the Board in regard to the placing of Boulevard
,lights on Howard Street from Niles Avenue to Leeper Avenue as on North whore Drive. The
Board took this matter under advisement.
Bond and contract fe-r the -Pipe sewer on Bowman Street from Michigan St.
d to Bowman Creek Trunk sewer, signed by De Peape & Coussens as principal and United
States Fidelity & Giaranty Co. of Baltimore, Mde as sureties its approved by the Board.
Bond and contract for pipe sewer on Fellows Street from Dubail Avenue to
the first alley south of Dubail Avenue, signed by L.H. Webster and principal and The
London &.Lancashire Guarantee do Accident Company as sureties was approved by the Board.
Permission was granted the Indiana & Michigan Elec. Co. to build transformer
-rack at the south end of Florin Court east and west, and remove pole at corner of
Florin Court and Lincoln Way East south twenty (20) feet from property line of
Lincoln Way east. e

Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. All members present.
Hearing had on Vacation Resolution No. 24 for the purpose .of vacating the
folowing described property ,to -wit: -The first alley north of Colfax Avenue from
Emerick Street to the East Race as follows,to-witL
Begining at the northeast corner
of lot 40 Original Plat of the Town of Lowell new a part of the City of South Bend
Indiana. Thence west along the north line of said lot 40 to the east Race; thence
north 14 feet to the south line Of 39 in said Plat; thence east along the north
line of said lot 39 to the west -line of Enerick Street, thence south 14 feet to the
' place of beginning.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstran es were
fi&tad, the Board therefore sustain all former action taken and declare the above
described property in all things vacated and this resolution in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved. '
Resolved further that the City Engineer be instructed to prepare a
roll showing awards of damages and assessments of benefits to all parties and pro-
perties .interested in the above matter.
Hearing had on Condemnation Resolution No. .37 for the purpose of appro-
priating a strip of land beginning at south east corner of lot 37 Original Plat of
Lowell now a part of the City of South Bend, Indiana; thence west along the south
line of said lot 37 to the easterly line of the East Race; thence south 16 feet;,
thence east parallel with and 16 feet south of the south line of said lot 37 to the
west line of Emerick Street; thence north along the west line of Enerick Street 16
feet to the place of beginning. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances
were filed. The Board being fully advised in the matter Drakes final action on said
resolution oonfirming without modification, all former action jraken on same.
The Board therefeee declares the above property in all things
condemned and appropriated for public use, the Board now orders that a list or roll
be p r ared of all owners or holders of property and of valuable interests therein
o be taken or to be injuriously affected, which said list or roll shall also
describe the property benefieally affected.
Deferred hearing had on the Pavement on Mishawaka Avenue from Eddy
/ Street to Nineteenth Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 373. In the City of
South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no remonstrance was
filed. The Board after duatconsideration decided to defer all action on said
Improvement Resolution until March 7th.1916 at 7:45 P.M. (Tuesday)
Mr. Noble of Bartlett Street apeared before the Board and took up the
✓ matter of widening of Bartlett Street. The Board took the matter under advisement.

Eddy ,Parry and Francis and Division Street from Mishawaka Avenue to Division
r6treet, under Improvement Resolution No. 356. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved that notices as to the amounts o assessments be published
on the 3rd. day of June1915 and on the loth. day of June1915 in the South Bend Daily
Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of assessments th.,,
at `it's --office � in the City: Hall on the 15th. day of June1915 at 7:45 P.M.
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be ac-
cepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this Resolution
shall be published on the 3rd. day of June,1915* and on the loth. dy of June,1915
in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the
acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 15th. day of June,1915.

Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for Brick pavement on
Cottage Grove Avenue from Grand View Avenue to Oak Street, under Improvement Resolution
No. 354. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for
siie consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the 7th. day of
June,1915 stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments
at its office in the City Hall on the 22nd. day of June,1915 at 7:45 P.M.
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be ac-
cepted and approved and the final estimate thereori allowed. Notice of this 'resolution
shall be published on the 7th. day'of June91915 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating
that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the
City Hall on the 22nd. day of June21915 at 7:45 P.M.
LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 391.
Resolved by=the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend County
of St.'Joseph, State of Indiana. That the construction of a losal sewer, intended and
adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and not
intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is
hereby ordered in and along Leeper Avenue from Howard Street to Angella Avenue as
follows: to -wit: -
Beginning at the center of Howard Street and Leeper Avenue thence north
along the center line of Leeper Avenue to the center of Angella Avenue with a 15 inch
vitrified pipe sewer. Together with the necessary manholes, inlets, conduits and house
connections to the curb line along the lihe of said improvement. All as shown on
the plans, and in accordance with the profiles, detail drawings and specifications on
file in the office of the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
And suoh improvement is now ordered and said sewer, with all its appur-
tenances shall be constructed in accordance with the prfile and specifications now on
file in the office of the Department of Public Works of said City. The cost of said
Improvement shall be apportioned against and paid by the property holders whose property
abuts thereon, and upon the City of South Bend if the City if benefited by said improve-
ment, all ao,cording to the method and manner provided for in Avt.of the General
Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled "An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations,*
approved March 6,1905• Assessments, if deferred, are to be paid in ten equal annual
installments, with interests at the rate of Sikx per cent per annum..A bond or bonds
shall be issued to the contractor in payment for such work, unless the property owners
pay said assessments before said bond or bonds are issued. Under no circumstances shall
the City of South Bend be or be head responsible for'any sum or sums due from,said pro-
perty owner or owners for said work, or for the collection of same, or for the payment
for such wark, except for such moneys as shall have been actually received by the City
from the assessments for such improvement, or such moneys as said City is by said
above entitled Act required to pay. All proceedings had, and work done in the making of
said improvement, assessment of property, collections of assessments and issuance of
bonds therefor, shall be as provided for in said above entitled Act.
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 3rd. day of
June,1915, and on the loth. day of June,1915, in the South Bend Daily Tribune.
This Board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the
29th. day of June,1915 at 7:45 P.M.

STREET OR ALLEY WROVEMENT RESOLUTION N0. 392.
Be It Resolved by the Board of 'Public Works of the City of South Bend,
St. Joseph County, State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to
improve Tonti Avenue from Lafayette Street to Tecumseh Avenue, as follows,to-wit:-
By gracing and paving the roadway, also grading and paving the roadway
of intersecting and entering streets and alleys, lying within said portion of said
Tonti Avenue not included in the roadway, to be improved with WATER BOUND MACADAM
PAVEMENT. Placing the necessary marginal cement curb, curbing the roadway with
cement curb where same is not already constructed. Also the construction of the
necessary storm water inlets and conduits. All as shown on the plans, and in accord-
ance with the profiles, detail drawings . and specifications on Pile in the office of
the Department of Public Works ok the City of South Bend, Indiana.
The cost of the improvement herein provided for, except street and alley
intersections, shall be patid by special assessment to be levied upon the specially
benefitted , to the amount oil that the same may be legally assessed therefor, in
accordance with art Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indianav entitled an
Act Concerning Municipal Corporations," approved March 61,1905, and in accordance with
and pursuant to the provisions of all acts amendatory and supplemental thereto.
The cost of all street and alley intersections, including one -half of the
width of the improvement opposite street and alleys which run into, but do not cross
said roadway herein proposed to be improved and that portion of such street or alley,
abutting upon property belonging to said City, or upon property not sub feet ti such
assessments, shall be paid by the City in cash out of its general fund, if able to do
sa, or from a fund created by a special assesment to be levied under the provisions of
Section 108 of the above entitled Act.
Assessmarits of ten dollars and more against each lot, ifndeferred, are to
be paid in ten equal annual installments, with interest at the rate of Six per cent,
per annum.. A bond or bonds will be issued to the contractor to the amount of such
deferred assessments in pro rates payment for such improvement.
Under no circumstances shall the City of South Bend be, or be held respbne
responsible for any sum or sums due frog said property owner or owners for said work,
or for the collection of the same, or for the payment for any bond, bonds, certificate
or certificates, issued to said contractor in payment for such work, except for such
moneys as shall have actually been received by the City from the asses ments for such
improvement, or such moneys as said City is by said entitled Act and amendments and
supplemnts thereto required to pay. All proceedings had, and work done in the making
of said improvement, assessment of property collection of assessments and issuance of
bonds therefor, shall be as provided for in said above entitled Act and Acts amendatory
thereof and supplemental thereto.
Be It Further Resolved, That the Board of Public Works fix the 29th,
day of June,1915 at the. hour of 7:45 P.M. at the office of the Board of Public Works
of this City, as the time and place for the public; consideration of said proposed
improvement , at which said Board of Public Works id ll hear all ,persons interested, or
whose property is liable to be assessed for said improvement, and will decide whether
the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement vd ll equal
the estimated cost thereof.
Be It Further Resolved, That notice of the time and place of such
public consideration be published and mailed in the manner provided by law. Notice of
this resolution shall be published on the 3rd. day of June,1915. and on the loth.
day of June,1915. in the South Bend Daily Tribune.

,� Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,'St.
Joseph County, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and
adapted only for local use by the the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and
not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains,be and the same is
hereby ordered in and along Corby Street from Niles Avenue to the east line of St. Louis
Boulevard (sout) as follows to -wit:-
Beginning at the center line of Niles Avenue . and Corby
Street] ; thence east along the center line of Corby Street to a point 25 feet west of the
west line of Hill Street with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer. Also beginning at the center of
line of Hill Street and Corby'Street; thence east along the center line of said Corby Street
to the east line of St. Louis Boulevard with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer. Together with
the necessary manholes, inlets, conduits and house connections to the curb line along the
line of said improvement . All as shown on the plans, and in accordance with the profiles
detail drawings and specifications on file in the office of the Department of Public Works
of the City of South Bead, Indiana.

adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and not
intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is
hereby ordered in and along Jaquith Court from Prairie Avenue to a point 70 feet east
Of the east line -of Chapin Street as follows to —wit: —
Beginning at the center of Prairie
Avenue and Jaquith Court; thence north westerly along the center line of Jaquith Court
to the first angle west of Prairie Avenue with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer; thence west
along the center of said Jagaith Court to a point 70 feet east of the east line of
Chapin Street with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer. Together with the necessary manholes,
inlets, conduits and house connections to the curb line along line of said improvement.
All as shown on the plans,.and in accordance with the profiles, detail drawings, and
specifications on file in the office oftthe Department of Public Works of the City
of South Bend, Indiana.
