Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present,
The City Engineer filed the following report.

-Atta ched find bill filed by Messts De Peape Coussens for locating sewer
tap at #428 West Navarre Street. mr. John Kestler plumber was unable to locate this tap
at point indicated by -measurements on file in the City Engineers office and Messrs De Peape
& De Vos the contractors who built the Navarre Street sewer were ordered to locate the
tap. The tap was found 4 feet west of the paint indicated by measurements on file in the
Engineer's office.

The Board.approved of the above and ordered bill of $15.00 paid.
The City Civil Engineer filed report on petitions and recommended that
the following be granted. The. Board ordered resolutions prepared on same.
Macadam pavement on Tonti Avenue from Lafayette Street to Tecumseh Avenue.
v Pipe sewer on Corby Street from Niles Avenue to St. Louis Blvd.
✓ Pipe sewer on Jaquith 0ourt , from Scott Street to ' Chapin Street.
The following resolution was adopted and approved.
R E S 0 L U T I 0 N.
Resolved that
- Pole and Wire Inspector ordered to remove and take down all unused poles
of public utilities that have not been so removed in accordance with resolution adopted
April 27th.,1915 and render a bill to such utilities for such expense as is accrued
therein.
Petition received, read and placed on file for a street light at corner
N of Napoleon Street and St. Louis Street.
The following resolution was adopted and approved by the Board.
Resolution.
Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works that whereas there exists an
terror in the amount of assessments of Mary B. Albright on the following tract, to -wit: -
All that part of the S.W.-1/4 Sec- 24 T. 37 N.R. 2 E. that lies N. and.W. of the old
Rupel Road now -Tvaeated except the right of way of the Terre Haute & Logansport. R.R.
Co. on the Bowman Creek Trunk sewer assessment roll.
Said error exists in measurements and reduction as compared to other tract
adjacent thereto, therefore be it resolved by the Board of Public Works that the sum of
$53.60 be deducted from the uncorreet assessment now $216.50 assessed against said tract
and that the balance in the sum of $162.90 be and stand as the just assessment against said
tract and new to be enforceable and the sum of #53.60 be assessed against the City of
South Bend and the City Controller is hereby authorized to make such corrections on the
assessment sheets on file with the City Treasurer.
Contract for the pavement on Vassar Avenue from Riverside Drive to
Portage Avenue, was awarded to Western Construction Company with Trinidad Lake Asphalt.
Amount of contract at $21,476. 05.
Permission was granted to the Oentral Union Telephone Company to set
one pole 100 feet south of Eckman Street on the east side of the first alley.west
Of Pain Street north . get poles all on the same side of this alley on the west side.

LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 390
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, County.
of St. Joseph, State of Indiana. That the construction of a local sewer, intended and
adapted only for local use by the property holders whose,property abuts thereon, and
not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and:same is,
hereby ordered in and along St. Peter Street and Sorin Street as follows to -wit: -
Beginning at the center of South Bend Avenue and St. Peter Street.
thence south along the center of St. Peter Street to the center of Soi.n Street with a
15 inch vitrified pipe sewer; thence east along the center .of Sorin Street to the west
line of Notre Demur Avenue with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer.
Also begin at toe center line of Sorin Street and the east line of Notre
Dame Avenue; thence east along the center line of Sorin Street to a point 50 feet west
of the west line of Eddy Street with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer.
'Also begIn. at the center of Sorin Street and St. Peter Street thence
west along the center of Sorin Street to the. center of St. Peter Street (south of Sorin
Street ) with a 12 inch vitrified pipe sewer.
Also begin at the center of St. Louis Boulevard and Sorin Street; thence
east along the center ff S®rin Street to the center of St. Peter Street with a 10
inch vitrified pipe sewer. Together with the necessary manholes, inlets, conduits and'
house connections to the cur b line along the line of said improvement. All as shown
on the plans,. and in accordance with the profiles and detail drawings and specifications
on file in the office of the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
Indiana.
And such improvement Is now ordered, and said sewer, with all its
appurtenances shall be constructed in accordance with the profiles nad specifications
now on file in the office of the Department of Public Works of said City. The cost of
said improvement shall be apportioned against and paid by the property holders whose
property abuts thereon, and upon the City of South Bend, if the City is benefitted by
said improvement, all according to the method and manner provided for in Act of the
General Assembly of the State of Indiana, entitled "An Act Concerning Municipal Cor-
porations," approved March 6 1905• Assessments, if deferred, are to be paid in ten
equal annual installments, wdth interest at the rate of Six per cent per annum. A
bond or bonds shall be issued to the contractor An payment for such mo rk, unless, the
property owners pay said assessments before said bond or bonds are issued. Under no
circumstances shall the City of South Bend be orebe held responsible for any sum or sums
due from said property owner or owners for said work, or for the collection of same, or.
for the payment of any bond or bonds, certificate or certificates, issued to said
contractor in payment for such work, except for such moneys as shall have been actually
by the City from the assessments for such impovement, or such moneys as said City is
by said above entitled A at required to pay. All proceedings had, and work done in
the making of said Improvement, assessment of property, collections of -assessments
and issuance of. bonds therefor, shall be.as provided for in said above entitled Act.
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 29th. day of May.
1915 and on the 5th. day of J`ane91915 in the South Bend Daily Tribune. This -Board will
give a hearing on this resolution at its office in t_-e City Hall on the 22nd. day of
June,1915. at 7: 45 P.M.
