Agenda: Update—Notre Dame Sewer Service
Oliver Davis, Chair of the Utilities Committee began this joint hearing with the Public Works &
Property Vacation Committee promptly at 3:40 p.m.with quorums of both committees present.
The purpose of the meeting was to hear an update from Gary Gilot, Director of Pubic Works
regarding the Notre Dame Sewer Service Rate Provided for the Council and attached here is an
extensive 18 page color report used by Gary for the presentation clearly detailing the mutually
beneficial relationship between the City and Notre Dame. Of primary interest was the detail of the
CSO monitoring system jointly developed by ND and the City. This$4 million dollar project, of
which $1 million was contributed by ND enables the City to avoid the nearly$120 million cost of
building a separate storm/sanitary sewer system.
After a brief question and answer session Mr. Davis adjourned the meeting at 4:12 p.m.
