Piasecki Redevelopment Commissioner EmeritusRESOLUTION NO. 1301 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION COA04ENDING ROMAN J. PIASECKI FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE TO THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AND DESIGNATING ROMAN J. PIASECKI REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONER EMERITUS WHEREAS, many people express concern about urban problems and their impact upon the community; and WHEREAS, some people demonstrate their concern by personal involvement in the process of seeking solutions; and WHEREAS, a very few people are both willing and able to bring a degree of dedication and leadership that culminates in real, measurable progress, enriching the life of the community; and re, WHEREAS, Roman J. Piasecki has shown such leadership by honorably serving as a Commissioner on the South Bend Redevelopment Commission since 1982, attending 325 of the Commission's 343 meetings since that time; and WHEREAS, during the tenure of his service the quality of life of the residents of South Bend has improved as a result of the contributions of the time, knowledge, good judgement, and steadfast efforts of Roman J. Piasecki; and WHEREAS, Roman J. Piasecki has served as the Redevelopment Commission's representative to the board of directors of the Housing Development Corporation; and WHEREAS, Roman J. Piasecki has served as the Redevelopment Commission's representative to the board of directors of the Studebaker Museum; and WHEREAS, the family of Roman J. Piasecki has been active in South Bend community affairs for over 135 years; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the South Bend Redevelopment Commission hereby: 1. Commends Roman J. Piasecki for meritorious service and expresses its gratitude for a job well done; and 2. Designates Roman J. Piasecki Redevelopment Commissioner Emeritus. Adopted at a Regular Meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission, held on December 16, 1994 at the Office of the Commission, 1308 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana.
