Resolution No. 1583
A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY
TO THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, Department of
Redevelopment (Redevelopment) is the owner of the following
described real property situated in St. Joseph County, Indiana:
See attached Exhibit A
(collectively hereinafter referred to as the Real Property),and;
WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36- 7 -14 -3, the South Bend
Redevelopment Commission (Commission) is the governing body of
the City of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment and, pursuant
to I.C. 36 -7 -14 -12.2 may dispose of the Real Property; and
WHEREAS, the Commission, is desirous of transferring the
property to the South Bend Redevelopment Authority (Authority)
for the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36- 1 -11 -8, Redevelopment, acting
through the Commission and the Authority may exchange or transfer
property with one another upon terms and conditions agreed upon
by the two (2) entities as evidenced by the adoption of
substantially identical resolutions of each entity; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Authority, at its meeting of
February 23, 1998, will consider its Resolution No. 122 ,
accepting the transfer of the Real Property from South Bend
Redevelopment Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND
REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the transfer of the Real Property situated in St.
Joseph County, Indiana, and generally described as follows:
See attached Exhibit A
for the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00), by the City of South Bend,
Indiana, Department of Redevelopment, to the South Bend
Redevelopment Authority, for construction of the improvements to
the Morris Civic Auditorium and Palais Royale Ballroom, shall
be, and hereby is, approved.
2. That the President and Secretary of the South Bend
Redevelopment Commission shall be, and hereby are, authorized,
respectively, to execute and attest to the execution of a

quitclaim deed conveying all of the right, title and interest in
! the Real Property to the South Bend Redevelopment Authority.
3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
upon its adoption by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission.
ADOPTED at a meeting of the South Bend Redevelopment
Commission held at 1300 County -City Building, 227 W. Jefferson
Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana 46601 on
1998.

A parcel of land located in the West Half (W' /:) of the Northwest Quarter (NWy) of Section Twelve
(12), Township Thirty -Seven (37) North Range Two (02) East of the Second Principal Meridian, all
being located in Portage Township, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana and be a part
of Lot No. 8 and Lot No. 9 of the Plat of the Original Town, now City of South Bend and being more
particularly y described as follows:
"Wool Beginning at the Northeast comer of said Lot 9 of the Plat of the Original Town, now City of South
Bend; thence south along the east line of Lot 9 and Lot 8 and also being along the west line of a 14-
feet wide, north/south alley lying midway between Main Street on the west and Michigan Street on
the east, a distance of 108 feet, thence west, parallel with the north line of said Lot No. 9, a distance
