A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR
PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTION
WHEREAS, I.C. 6 -1.1- 12.1 -2(1) provides that an application for property tax deduction may not
be approved when the property is located in an allocation area as defined in I.C. 36- 7- 14 -39, unless the
Redevelopment Commission which designated that allocation area adopts a resolution approving that
application; and
WHEREAS, the South Bend Common Council has received a petition for five (5) years of
personal property tax abatement consideration from Curtis Products, Inc. for personal property located at
702 and 722 South Carroll Street in the South Bend Central Development Area, the legal description of
which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein; and
WHEREAS, this Commission declared the South Bend Central Development Area by Resolution
No. 737, adopted May 10, 1985, and in the same resolution declared the South Bend Central Development
Area, Allocation Area No. 1 A; and
WHEREAS, the property located at 702 and 722 South Carroll Street is located within the South
Bend Central Development Area, Allocation Area No. IA;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission as
follows:
1) The Commission finds that the application from Curtis Products, Inc. for five (5) years of
ILI personal property tax abatement consideration for properties located at 702 and 722 South Carroll Street in
the South Bend Central Development Area, Allocation Area No. IA, should be and is hereby approved.

2) That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the South Bend Common Council to indicate the
Commission's approval of the petition for personal property tax abatement for Curtis Products, Inc.
Approved this 2 "d day of July 2004 at the regularly scheduled meeting of the South Bend
Redevelopment Commission.

Township 37 North, Range 2 East, Portage Township, City of South
Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, more particularly described as
follows:
Lots B, C, D. E, H, I, K and part of vacated alleys south of
Bronson Street, east of Carroll Street and west of Fellows Street,
Sample's Subdivision of Denniston and Fellows Addition; and
A Lots P through V and part of Lots W, Y, Z, AA, AB, AC, AD and
adjacent vacated alleys, Sample's Subdivision of Denniston and
Fellows Addition; and
Lot L and the west 53 feet of Lot M and parts of vacated alleys
north of Lot L and west of Lot L and west and south, Denniston and
Fellows Addition; and
Lot E and one half vacated alley south and east adjacent, Sample's
Subdivision of Lot 26 -27 -28 of Denniston and Fellows Addition; and
Lot M excluding west 53 feet and part of vacated alley south and
adjacent and west 25 feet of vacated Columbia Street, Lots 26 -27 -28
of Denniston and Fellows Addition; and
Lot N and part of vacated alleys north and adjacent and west and
adjacent and west half of vacated Columbia Street., Lots 26 -27 -28 of
Denniston and Fellows Addition.
