AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, FOR BUDGET TRANSFERS FOR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS WITHIN
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE YEAR 2011
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
Unforeseen conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing budgets
(Ordinances #10045-10 and#10046-10, passed 10/25l10)which necessitate the increase
and reduction of appropriations within the various departments of the General Fund and
other funds of the City of South Bend during 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
Section I. All accounts as set forth in the detailed attachment hereto which are
incorporated herein shall be adjusted by increase or reduction of appropriation in the
designated sums.
Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

re: Ordinance of the Common Council for Budget Transfers of Various Departments within the Civil
City of South Bend
Dear President Dieter:
Unforeseen conditions have developed since the initial adoption of the existing budgets approved by
Common Council Spending Ordinances #10045-10 and #10046-10 which necessitate the increase and
reduction of appropriations within various departments of the General Fund and other funds of the City of
South Bend during 2011.
Attached is a spending appropriation bill for this purpose with an attachment providing details to all of the
increases and reductions. The attached schedule is incorporated into the bill itself and made a part
thereof.
The increases and reductions included herewith are expenditure neutral for the 2011 budget, with
increases and reductions netting to a zero dollar appropriation.
I will present this bill to the Common Council at the appropriate Council Committee meeting, public
hearing, and at the Council meeting. It is requested that this Bill be filed for 15� reading at the June 13,
2011 Council meeting, with 2"a 3�a reading and council vote at the June 27, 2011 Council meeting.
I am available to discuss any matters concerning this bill at the convenience of Council.
