Executive Summary The City of South Bend has requested that Radiant Networks engage in providing Survey and Installation Resources to provide for Wireless "Last Mile" Resources as well as "Wireless Public Access" to the Metronet for multiple locations as defined by the Metronet. An RF Survey will be performed by Radiant Networks throughout all outlined areas. We will perform Spectrum Analysis and provide our recommendations using Cisco Best Practices to engineer the Wireless Network to provide maximum coverage throughout outlined areas. We will provide a full reporting based upon the findings of the RF Survey performed and the best approach to deploy the Wireless Network. Radiant Networks will provide a quotation for services to install the WLAN and associated networking equipment. Radiant Networks will also provide a line item quote for Consulting Services to provide for the design of the overall Architecture of the Wireless Network and it's interconnections to the Metronet and the Metronet's interconnections to the internet. Scope of Work Scope of Work for Initial WIRELESS SITE SURVEY AND DESIGN Radiant Networks will provide professional services to perform an on -site survey of the specified areas by the Metronet and our recent walkthroughs. This scope of work is for the initial purchase of Professional Services by the City of South Bend, with additional Professional Services and Products to be procured as funding is made available. This survey will be a data grade Cisco MESH design, using Cisco Aironet Mesh 802.11a /b /g /n access points. This survey will detail where the placement of the access points must be and the connectivity required for network access. The design criteria set forth enables the wireless infrastructure to be an extension of the Ethernet LAN and, in doing so, enables data devices to connect via a wireless connection at RF data rates of up to Wireless N data rates. This site survey will deliver to customer a Wireless MESH Design Report that will detail implementation procedures to be used for the successful deployment of these sections. The design specifics of this on -site survey are as follows: • Professional wireless analysis to achieve wireless connectivity with a minimum RF data rate of Wireless N speeds. Data grade design only. • Monitor ambient wireless activity to detect presence of external sources of interference and maintain co- existence with other wireless systems on -site and operating in the same bandwidth. • Identify and evaluate RF obstructions, which could impact RF coverage and performance. • Determine the proper placement of wireless access points and associated antennas for seamless roaming to minimize RF interference, client connectivity and customer Network connectivity. o Placement of wireless access points will be on existing infrastructure, with any required approvals for placement to be obtained by customer prior to survey beginning. • Determine which RF channels are best suited for this installation. • Provide optimal RF network design using security considerations of the Metronet. - 3 - Radiant Networks Services, Inc. • www.radiant- networks.com • 866- 411 -WLAN (9526) • - - •* d' " i'•'.n "': ,v ,.., \ a t i L of I `u 't; ' - •- x - r .. . Survey Deliverables Radiant Networks will deliver to the City of South bend a data grade Cisco MESH Site Survey design report, using Cisco Aironet Mesh 802.11a /b /g /n access points. The purpose of this Site Survey report is to provide the Metronet with the necessary information for a successful installation of Wireless Public Network utilizing Cisco MESH Network infrastructure and client connections. This Cisco MESH Network will be based on 802.11 a /b /g /n access devices for data wireless network coverage. The design criteria set forth above will enable the wireless infrastructure to be an extension of the Ethernet LAN and, in doing so, enables data devices to connect via a wireless connection at RF data rates of up to Wireless N data rates. The wireless Cisco MESH Design Report will contain the following items. 1. Radiant Networks Project Summary 2. Summarized Design 3. Locations & Location Testing 4. Site Survey Results and Observations S. 802.11a/g/n Considerations 6. Pole Mounting Reference 7. AP Settings Detail 8. Access Point Location Diagrams 9. Antenna Locations 10. RF Spectrum Capture Samples 11. Interfering Device Lists 12. Coverage Map — Service Areas 13. Access Point Location Detail 14. Detailed Bill of Materials for installation Project Management Radiant Networks will assign a Project Manager to this project and they will be the primary point of communication throughout the process. They will coordinate the efforts of the on -site engineers as well as provide end of day reports as to the work that was completed. Client Responsibilities • Provide adequate resources throughout engagement for knowledge transfer • Provide Radiant Networks with building drawings /schematic /blueprints in electronic format. • Provide Radiant Networks access to the areas to be accessed • Provide Radiant Networks access to the data closets. • Ensure that scheduling with each area has been successfully completed prior to Radiant Networks performing the work within that area. • Provide a safe working environment for Radiant engineers. 5- Radiant Networks Services, Inc. • www.radiant- networks.com • 866 - 411 -WLAN (9526) (WADIANT NErWORKSM Enterprise Mobility — We make it happen!
