HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/25/07 Committee Meeting Minutes--.;. r ~ Personnel and Finance Standing Committee ,;:r ~I -~ - ~. y y 2©OT South Bend Cnmmnn Council The June 25 , 2007 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee of the South Bend Common Council was called to order by its Vice-Chairperson, Council Member David Varner at 3:02 p.m the Council's Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Puzzello, Varner, Rouse, Kuspa, White, and Kelly;; Cifiizen Member Diana Hess, City Controller M. Catherine Fanello, Martha Lewis, Mrs. Kopola, J. Edward Talley, Jamie Loo of the South Bend Tribune and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney. Dr. Varner welcomed Council Member Randy Kelly to his first Committee meeting. He noted that the Committee Members include Council Members Pfeifer who serves as Chairperson, Council Members Kuspa and Kirsits; and that he serves as the Vice- Chairperson of the Committee. There was not a quorum of the Committee present. Bill No. 07.83 Resolution Approving a Scrap Metal License for 2920 W. Sample Dr. Varner called for a presentation on Bill No. 07-83 which would approve a scrap metalljunk dealerslrecycling operation license for Shapira Sales located at 2920 West Sample Street (copy attached). No one from the Administration was present to present the Bill. Miscellaneous Business: ^r. Varner inquired about the upcoming schedule on the civil city budget. City Controller M. Catherine Fanello noted that they are working with Council Member Pfeifer to re-schedule August 30~h. It was suggested that a Personnel and Finance Committee meeting be held this Friday at 3:30 p.m., since the notice requirements could not be met for calling a meeting for this Wednesday. Ms. Fanello noted that the meeting would be to review and discuss the new methodologies which will be used for the budget.
