Such compensation may not be "changed in the year for which it is fixed, nor may it be reduced below the amount fixed for the previous year". The following ordinance establishes the annual compensation for the City Clerk for calendar year 2008. In light of the uncertainty of the financial impact of the State, of Indiana's Circuit Breaker law, amulti-year salary ordinance would not be in the best interest of the City at this time. ~o-c~, t~i~~ rO e, lse r;G- dx~ar~.ze~ by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: Section I. The annual compensation for the City Clerk of the City of South Bend, Indiana in 2008 is hereby established at $51,766.00. Section II. This ordinance shall be published pursuant to Indiana Code § 5-3-1. with the first publication at least thirty (30) days before the final passage by the Common Council. Section III.
