Bill No. 11-35—Personal Property Abatement—Hoosier Tank 1710 N. Sheridan
Chairperson Rouse called the Community and Economic Development Committee to order at
5:12 p.m. He reviewed Bill Nos. 11-34 and 11-35 by first announcing for purposes of public
hearing the bills would be combined in that they were both for Hoosier Tank and Manufacturing
Inc. Bill No. 11-34 is a petition for real property tax abatement. Bill No. 11-35 is for personal
property.
Chairperson Rouse recognized Bob Mathia from Community& Economic Development to
present his summary report of both petitions. Bob described a petition for real property
representing a 20,300 sq.ft. addition to Hoosier Tank worth an estimated, $760,000. The
personal property petition represents an investment of over 1,175,000. The project in total will
create 15 new permanent jobs with an annual payroll over$600,000.
Chairperson Rouse then asked William Welsch from Hoosier Tank to add any comments.
Welsch spoke to the urgent need for the expansion.
Following brief supportive comments, Ann Puzzello moved each bill be sent to Council with a
favorable recommendation. Councilmember White seconded the motion, all affirmed.
There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson Rouse
adjourned the meeting at 5:20 p.m.
