Park After Dark
Friday, June 29
Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy a FREEoutdoor dusk
showing of the original "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" movie in Leeper
Park West, just south of the Leeper Tennis Center! Snacks will be available for
sale, or pack a picnic and popcorn and enjoy a fun & tasty evening! The park opens
at 8:00 p.m., and the movie will start at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Park After Darkis sponsored by Historic Preservation Commission of South
Bend & St. Joseph County, City of South Bend Parks & Recreation, Chapin Park
Neighborhood Association, South Bend Chocolate Co., and Downtown Dollar Plus.
It is part of South Bend City Celebration 2007, a yearlong festival of events and
programs held on the 29th of every month to showcase all that our community has
to enjoy. Locales include the Pierre Navarre Cabin at Leeper Park, the Muessel-
Ellison & Ella Morris Greenhouse & Conservatories, Howard Park Ice Rink, St.
Joseph Co. Public Library, the College Football Hall of Fame, Northern Indiana
Center for History, South Bend Regional Museum of Art, Studebaker National
Museum, City Cemetery, Coveleski Stadium, and the Jon Hunt Plaza (in front of
the Morris Performing Arts Center). Each event has been designed to entertain
residents and visitors from ages 3 to 103. Everyone is invited!

South Bend City Celebration is a collaboration between the City of South
Bend and the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend & St. Joseph
County. City Celebration complements the implementation of City Plan, South
Bend's new 20-year strategic plan for growth and development, by promoting and
building awareness of community assets.
