Today's Important Driving Safety Tips
The Mayor's Office is asking all drivers to use extra care and caution today. Due to the
unusual weather conditions as a result of this morning's snow and the rain forecasted this afternoon,
please be prepared for excessive flooding on streets, particularly around inlets and storm sewers in
low-lying areas. Drivers are urged to slow down to avoid hydroplaning. With snow sticking to stop
signs, information signs, and traffic signals, drivers are also urged to keep alert and to use caution,
especially when approaching intersections. South Bend Public Works' crews are working around the
city to keep streets clear and to combat flooding.
