June, 1942. � �

The Board approved the application for Special' Police Officer �
for Emil Lekens, which application was accompanied by a bond which
tivas also approved by the Board and ordered filed.
A letter rvas received from the South Bend Lodge No. 234 Elks,
thanking the Board and IJir. J. P. Conboy, Clerk, for the fine assis-
tance given them at the picnis for the children of the Orphants home, ;
also the two police officers who assis�ed them: j

Richard Stickley, a member of the Police Department has been '
called for service in the armed forces o�' the United S�a�es as of �
June 13, 1942.
Ellsworth Butz, Sergt. was promoted to the rank of Zieutenant, I',
in charge of �he Traffic Division of the Police Department, effective ',
July 16, 1942. , �
