, requested a hearino before the Board, and orall�r waived notice of such I

Thereupon a• hearing ti�ras held and SerSeant Vitou acl,�itted tha� he had �
violated Rule 5 of the Rules and ReUula�ions of the Police Department
of the Cit,y of Scuth �end, Indiana by being absent lrithout leave irom �
his reJular tour of duty on ;'Tednesday, I�'ovember 12, 1941. !

On motion duly macle, seconded and unanimousl,� carried, it rJas order- �
ed that Ser�eant Vitou should be reduced in rank to a patrolman, and his
suspension be ter�inated ��rith the da�r of hearin�, and that he report to
the Chief �f Police for �ssi�nrient to ne��r duties and he be deprived of
his pay during the daSTs of his suspension.
ELECTRIC D-�PARTi:TENT: The Board approved the petition of the Indiana Bell �
Telephone �o. to place underground caales in e;�istin� undergraund conduits
in the central and eastern sections of the City of South �end.
