Pfaffenbach from the Fire Depar�ment to become effective January l, 1940 1RlAS received. P�ir. Preger A�e �3 2118 Linden Avenue. , POLICE DEPART',IEi�TI' : Chief In�ram was present and r,latters pertaining to his department were discussed. f The Board 'naving been inf cr�ned that Gificer Tes�er had applied to the Police Pension �oard for dis�bility pension and the Pension Board having r.iet and acted upon his application and having granted Officer Tesmer a disability pension, c�arges heretofore filed by the Chief of Po7.ice on the grounds of incapac-�ty are now vrithdra�vn, �_nd the Clerk of the �3oard is authorized to certify �Ar. Tesmer salary claim to the lst day of I1ov.193�. ✓ I:�r. Andrest, General Supt. of the Chicago, South Shore and South Bend Railvaay and Ernest T�Tiller, City Traffic Engineer, ivere present beiore the ' Board regardin� the condition that exis�s at the intersection of the South Shore tracks at Olive Street. l�Zr. Andrest informed the Board tnat his co�npany �vould have a safet� stop made of all trains crossing Glive Stree� before entering the intersec�ion. The Bcard reco:n�ended that this nro- cedure be f ollowed and the matter ivas referred bac�L to the Co.�non Council. � Hearing of charges pre�erred a�ainst Officer Paczesny by Chief In�r� having been postponed until today, Officer Paczesny�s attorney � appeared be�fore the Board and reauested an addit�onal continuance in order that they r:li�ht anpeal to the Police Pension Board before i'inal action is � : talien by the Eoard of Fublic Safety. A final extension of tir:e to Tdcver.m- ber 20, 1939, ti�tas granted. That tlie iirst partv does nereby a;ree to l:eep said radio station in good running order and in ;ooa repair at all times and to furnish all �en necessar� to o�erate said radio station. 2. First party further a�rees to ierr:iit a direct line to be connected bet�rreen the police departr�ent of the second p�rt;r ana said radio station so that calls c� be made frcm the polic� s�ation of the seccnd party directly into the sending apparatus of said radio station. '� 3. Both parties hereto do agree t o cooperate at all times in the ' dispatching of inessages over saiu radio statian. 4. For all t_zi.n;s to be dcne 'oy said first part� as contained in the preceding para�raphs hereto, second party does agree to pay to the first part� tize sum of Seventy F'ive Dollars ( ;;�75.00) per month beginnig January 1, 1940, ti°rhich payinent is to be in iull for all expenses in c:onnection ;rrith the operation of said radio station. Said pay�ents . to be made on the 15th day of each month. 5. This �greement and contract is to be in full force and effect fcr a per�oc� of 1 year, tnat is, frcm the first day of January, 1940 to the t:zirt� first day of Decer�ber, 1���0.
