Regular meeting of �he Board of Public Safety was held on r�'tonday,
Gctober 2, 1939, at 1:30 P.PY2. r.�r. Driggs presided in �ir. Bea�er�s ab-
sence. P��inutes of the previous raeeting were read and approved. Claims
of the following suppliers in the amount of �220.15 �ere approved and
ordered paid:

', FIRE DEPARTPf�EfiTT: Ch.ief DeVleeschower �vas presen� and matters pertaining to
his depart�ent �vere discussed. The Fire Chief filed hia report for the '
month of September, 1939.
' Chief DeVleeschov�er reported that Curtis Turnock was intending to have
an operation for a hernia, vrhich in�ury he claims to have been caused - �
«hile on dut�. No action on the matter was ta�:en by the Board.
Chief DeVleeschcwer reoluested that the Board raembers be present at a
meeting to be held in his office on Thursday, Octaber 5, 1939, at 2:00 P.i�T.
to discuss a resolution presenttld to the Board of Public ��orks and Safety
and the Chief of the Fire yepartment in connection with t he co��rectness of
fire losses. This resolution was presented by the Association of Commerce,
and its fire prevention co�mittee. Those in attendance at the meeting are
to be members of several of the adjusting ccr.lpanies, several members of the
Association of Commerce and members of the Board and the Chief of the Fire
Department.

the following person and �vas ordered placed on file :-

PQLICE DEtAR'I'�fiEPdT: Chief Ingraui was present and matters pertaining to his
departr+ent tivere iscussed. Resignation of Officer Axel B. Tholander from
the Police Depar��nent was accepted as of October 1, 1939.
Bond of Officer Fred F. bTiller zTith Columbia Casualty Co�pany was ap-
proved.
