City Announces New TRANSPO Board Member
Mayor Stephen J. Luecke and the South Bend Public Transportation Corporation
(TRANSPO)Board of Directors announce the appointment of Jim Aranowski to the Board.
"Jim's credentials, experience and outstanding integrity, make him an asset to the Board,"
commented Mayor Luecke. TRANSPO General Manager William "Rick"Brown said, "We're
looking forward to Jim's partnership with TRANSPO and we feel that his background will be
very beneficial to our endeavors."
Mr. Aranowski comes to the board having served as a former District I City Council
member and former president of the St. Joseph County Alcoholic Beverage Commission. He has
a B.S. degree in Business from Indiana University and is a lifelong resident of South Bend. Jim
is a partner and senior accountant at David P. Aranowski, CPA, LLC accounting firm. He has
been associated with the firm for twenty years.
Mr. Oliver Davis, chairperson of the TRANSPO Board of Directors, stated "I am grateful
that Mayor Stephen Luecke has appointed Jim Aranowski to our Board. Jim comes to us with a
wealth of experience in public service to our community and with professional expertise in
accounting. He will serve on our Finance & Administration Committee and on the Grants and
Planning Committee. We look forward to his leadership as we work together to enhance transit
services for the citizens of South Bend and Mishawaka".
"I'm excited about being Mayor Luecke's appointment to the TRANSPO Board"
Aranowski stated. I look forward to using my experience in public accounting and public service
to help improve TRANSPO's services in South Bend and Mishawaka,"he further remarked.
The Board of Directors provides strategies to guide transportation policies and
investment decisions that reflect the priorities of a municipal transportation system running on
schedule. This year, the board will be focusing on the architectural design of the new TRANSPO
operations facility,to be located at the former South Bend Stamping Plant in the Studebaker
Corridor, along with transportation route designs for changes and improvements that will benefit
riders throughout the community.
